facial nerve involvement more common (~50%)..

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
كان اليوم المفترض تكريم أعضاء اللجنة العلمية لمستوى رابع دفعة 38 لأول كورس طب مجتمع ولكن أبلغوني أمس أن الوقت غير كافي للتكريم ولكن إن شاء الله سيتم التنسيق مع المناديب لكورس طب المجتمع المقبل او مابعده والتكريم اللائق بهم وبحجمهم وبعظمتهم مع باقي عُظماء اللجنة العلمية.

بين يديكم ملف يحتوي على مايزيد عن ٩٠% من مقرر الENT على شكل بطائق ANKI.
مايمز هذا الملف أن البطائق رتبت بشكل مفصل ( Catagorized ) مما يجعلها تقوم مقام الجداول والتجميعات اللتي تعد الطريقة المثلى لحفظ المعلومات المتعددة والمتشابهة بالإضافة إلى الميزة المعروفة للflash Cards مثل الإستذكار وضبط التكرار.

▪️Second NOSE:
-All arteries supplying the nose share in Kisslbach's plexus except
posterior ethmoidal artery.
-The most diagnostic symptoms of fracture nasal bone is external deformity & most diagnostic sign is abnormal mobility.
-Conservative treatment is the first line of treatment in CSF rinorrhea.
-Steam inhalation is one of the best mucolytics.
-The most important step in diagnosis of allergy is history taking.
-The most important feature of nasal polypi : it is a recurrent disease.
-All nasal polypi are unilateral except allergic polypi.
-Treatment of antrochoanal polyp is only surgical.
-Site of mucocele: frontal > ethmoidal > sphenoidal > maxillary.
-Maxillary and ethmoid sinuses are silent areas because early cases of
malignancies are asymptomatic.
-Inverted papilloma is locally destructive but not locally invasive
tumor.
-Haemangioma is the second common benign tumor of the nose &
PNS.
-In cases of acute sinusitis surgical treatment is contraindicated for
fear of osteomyelitis.
-Treatment of chronic sinusitis is mainly surgical for eradication of
predisposing factor and functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
-Paralysis of 6th cranial nerve of the opposite eye is the earliest
manifestation of contra lateral cavernous sinus thrombosis.
-Osler's disease is a hereditary hemorrhagic telangectasia (blood
vessels are weak & thin walled).

▪️First EAR:
-The best line of treatment in adhesive otitis media is hearing aid.
-Atelectatic ear is a condition occurs when the tympanic membrane is
adherent to medial wall of the middle ear in adhesive otitis media.
-Inflation tubes are not used in cases of otitis barotraumas.
-Glomus tumor is locally destructive but not locally invasive tumor.
-Angiography is the most diagnostic investigation in glomus tumor.
-Differential diagnosis of pulsating tinnitus: glomus tumor & high
jugular bulb (tinnitus stops on pressure on jugular vein, more common
in females).
-Osteoma tumor occurs in bone of external auditory canal under the
skin. Multiple osteomas is called exostosis (swimmer's ear) treated
surgically.
-Osteosclerosis commonly affects anterior margin of oval window
(fistula antefenestratum).
-Paracusis wilsii: otosclerotic patients hears better in noisy places.
-Schwartz's sign is pinkish color seen through tympanic membrane
that indicates active stage of disease (otosclerosis) with presence of
vascular spongy bone.
-Car hart's notch: bone conduction curve shows a dip at 2 kHz in
otosclerotic patients.
-Autoimmune theory is the most accepted one in meiniere's disease.
-The diagnostic investigation for meiniere's disease is electrochocleograph.
-In acoustic neuroma unsteadiness occurs but no vertigo (progress slowly allowing central compensation).
