Big Sky AC members traveled to Kalispell to attend the Flathead Celtic Festival this month, joining hundreds of other Montanans to celebrate our European roots. We watched the displays of strength showcased in the highland games, listened to Celtic folk music performances, and enjoyed learning about the many clans and houses of Scotland and Ireland. We also camped at one of the many lakes in the area, enjoying the mild fall weather and the breathtaking natural beauty of the mountains. Big Sky AC traveled to Southern California this month for the fifth annual Frontier tournament. Hosted by the SoCal Active Club. Our fighter brought home the win for our club, competing in boxing. We enjoyed the fights, speeches, grilled burgers and live music with the other men and their families, leaving the event feeling hopeful and energized as always. Respect and gratitude to SoCal for making it happen and all the other Active Clubs, fighters, staff and everyone else who helped with this growing tradition. Big Sky AC members hiked to Pine Creek Lake in the Absaroka range this month. Navigating deadfall fields and deep snow, we finally made it to the top at approx. 8,500 ft. above sea level. Total distance for the day was 9 hard miles.
