Russian military channels are increasingly painting a difficult picture around Lyman. Russian units appear to have been pushed back toward the Zherebets River, although some settlements still need visual confirmation. Russian sources themselves acknowledge Ukrainian crossings at several points, with troops pushing toward Terny and Balka Zhuravky and operating around Novosadove. Fighting is also reported near Zarichne.
Russian accounts describe badly depleted units, fresher Ukrainian formations and growing resupply problems as Ukrainian strikes hit crossings and drone activity remains heavy. Our assessment is that this is not a collapse of the Russian front (yet), but sustained and increasing pressure with the trend currently very unfavorable for Russia.

Zelensky says Ukraine aims to begin testing the first FREYJA anti-ballistic air defense system by late December. Ukraine has met with all countries and companies involved in developing components for the system, while Canada has also shown interest in the project. Zelensky described FREYJA as evolving beyond a European project into a broader international air defense model. Production is planned if testing is successful.

The targets included two UAV warehouses, an FPV drone production site, a Pantsir-S2 air defense system, a fuel and lubricants tank and a P-18 Terek radar. The SBU says fires were recorded at all of the targeted sites.

Fire Point confirms Ukrainian Defense Forces struck KuibyshevAzot and Togliattikauchuk in Tolyatti overnight using Fire Point systems. KuibyshevAzot supplies about 50% of Russia's caprolactam and 75% of its tire cord, while Togliattikauchuk supplies about 25% of its synthetic rubber market.

Ukraine's General Staff says Defense Forces struck several Russian military targets on September 11 and overnight into September 12. UAV command posts were hit in Polohy, Zaporizhzhia region, and Zaliznyi Port, Kherson region. Strike-drone warehouses and storage sites were hit in Malyi Kermenchyk, Donetsk, Selydove and Kurakhivka. A logistics depot and a weapons and military equipment storage site were also hit in Alchevsk. Damage is being assessed.

Ukraine's SBU says its Alpha special forces ranked first among Defense Forces units for verified targets hit for a sixth consecutive month. In August, Alpha reported nearly 6,000 Russian troops neutralized, 9,142 UAVs and UGVs hit, 2,977 vehicles, 2,791 antennas and communications nodes, and 1,183 fortifications struck. The unit also reported hits on 48 artillery systems, 46 armored vehicles, 23 MLRS, 17 air defense systems and 4 aircraft.

Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Togliattikauchuk chemical plant in Tolyatti, Samara region, overnight on September 12, with a hit followed by a fire. The plant specializes in synthetic rubber, monomers, fractions and high-octane gasoline additives. Synthetic rubber produced there is used in solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles.

NASA FIRMS detected a thermal signature yesterday near Baherove in occupied Crimea, at the site of a former Soviet Air Force special test range associated with testing and storing aviation munitions, including nuclear weapons. In 2024, active earthworks were observed around the former military airfield, reportedly involving the construction of revetments and helicopter pads.
