Enough of traveling for a while ✈️
My wife and I have collected a stack of boarding passes in 1 year 😅
Multiple trips to Manila, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phuket, Tashkent, Khiva, and back to Seoul. Business trips, family visits, conferences, meetups, and a lot of new people.
I think we’ve had enough flights for a while. Time to stay in our new home and focus on work 👨💻
Although knowing us, we probably book another trip sooner than expected 😁

WAYU × Habsida meetup at the Embassy of Uzbekistan 🇺🇿🔥
It’s been a while since I gave a presentation in Uzbek 😅
Feels good to be back to Korea. Hopefully, next time I’ll have a chance to do it in Russian or at least in English too 👀
Always happy to see fellow engineers and share my experience with the community 🚀

It’s been 2 months since I got promoted to a Team Lead position. It’s a completely different experience compared to being a software engineer.
I’m learning a lot about people management, planning, and delivery processes:
kick-offs, grooming, release cycles, retrospectives, sprint reviews, DoD, DoR, DoS, and many more.
Also, I asked my Head of stream to let me keep coding at least a little bit 💻
So I’m still involved in technical tasks too:
Kubernetes deployments, infrastructure setup, migrating legacy code, and other engineering work.
April was probably the hardest month for me professionally because there was a lot of new information to absorb. It’s still a lot, but I think I’m getting used to it.
My previous Team Lead experience in Korea felt way different. I’m not saying Korean IT is bad, it was just less structured and less process-oriented from my experience. Maybe because I only worked in smaller startups.
I’m still on a business trip in the Philippines 🇵🇭
This time feels different too. The company has grown a lot, and now I interact with way more people across different teams than I used to.

This year, I’m celebrating my 31st birthday in my hometown (Khiva), with my wife and parents 🎉
This trip is special, it’s been 9 years since I last spent my birthday at home.
It’s a little hard to admit that I’m no longer “twenty-something” 😅
It’s also been over two years since I started this channel… and a lot has happened during that time.
Hopefully, I’ll keep sharing more cool stuff here💻
In two weeks, I’ll be back in Seoul, organizing the DevKorea × Salmon Group meetup and getting ready for my next business trip to Manila ✈️
I’ll see you around 🚀
@seouldev
