Par Mme Karin Kneissl, 5 juin 2024 Le nom du philosophe allemand Oswald Spengler est devenu le long du siècle dernier synonyme de « déclin de l'Occident », tel était le titre de son œuvre majeure Je l'ai lu pour la première fois en 2012, alors que je rédigais mon livre « Le monde fragmenté ». Le sous-titre de ce livre était « Que se passe-t-il après la mondialisation ? La déglobalisation/demondialisation ou la renationalisation, le désir de retrouver la souveraineté, tout cela a commencé il y a plus de 20 ans, selon mes observations. J'ai relu Spengler alors que j’écrivais mon livre actuel au Liban. Heureusement, l'ouvrage existe sur Internet, car mon livre était resté en Autriche, comme tous mes autres livres, lorsque j'ai quitté mon pays contre mon gré en septembre 2020 avec deux chiens et deux valises. Spengler s'est penché sur le cycle de l'histoire, il a été l'un des philosophes à avoir une approche interdisciplinaire sérieuse de l'histoire mondiale, ce qui rend ses réflexions intéressantes et originales jusqu'à aujourd'hui. D'un point de vue russe, son évaluation de la Russie est particulièrement intéressante, car il était également très confiant dans l'avenir de la Russie en 1918 et 1923, années de la publication de ses œuvres. Je n'ai certainement pas écrit une suite à Spengler, même si le titre de mon livre va dans le même sens. Je ne m'intéresse pas non plus en premier lieu à l'Europe institutionnalisée, comme l'UE des 27, l'Europe du marché et aujourd'hui l'Europe de la guerre. Nous sommes en quelque sorte revenus au point de départ de l'histoire européenne, qui est aussi un retour de la guerre totalitaire. Il s'agit avant tout pour moi de l'idée de l'Europe, de ce lieu de nostalgie qu'est l'Europe, vers lequel de nombreuses personnes se sont toujours tournées avec de grands espoirs. Autrefois, il s'agissait de l'Europe de la liberté et de la constitution, de l'éducation et des arts. Aujourd'hui, pour la majorité des immigrés, il s'agit de l'État-providence. Personnellement, au cours des cinq dernières années, j'ai appris de quoi les autorités européennes - dans mon cas, l'Autriche - sont capables lorsqu'on pense de manière indépendante, lorsqu'on veut continuer à enseigner dans une université russe, par exemple : la conséquence en est l'expulsion. L'Europe, dont j'ai été reconnaissante toute ma vie, a cessé d'exister. Elle a perdu son âme.

Good morning Yesterday an interview in between in sunny St.Petersburg getting ready for the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum SPIEF I attended my first SPIEF in 2021, German was spoken all over, last year I heard lots of Arabic and I expect many languages to be spoken this time. It is nice to jump from French to Spanish, back to Russian and chat in Arabic, there are lots of good Russian Orientalists. Intense days lie ahead

Today the RT columnist and ex US weapons’ inspector Scott Ritter was prevented from travelling to Russia, his passport was confiscated by US-airport police. He was supposed to attend the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum this week. He was scheduled for a panel on Friday morning in which I will also participate. I quitted Austria in summer 2020, I had my share with very nasty interrogations at Vienna airport apart from many other reasons which rendered my life impossible in Austria. For security reasons I would not travel to the EU, UK or US. We are in times of blacklisting and one does not even know the crime of which one might be accused. The horrible drama of Julian Assange should be a clear warning that rule of law is gone. A few days ago the Amal and George Clooney Foundation announced to work on warrants concerning „Russian propagandists“… When I served as Foreign Minister, the office of Mrs. Clooney wanted to come to Vienna to speak on Human Rights and for that she wanted a remuneration for several hundreds thousands Euros. My answer back then was, that Mrs. Clooney is welcome to Vienna, we will cover her hotel expenses but we will not pay her a fee if she wants to speak on Human Rights.
