[ADDITION] 📖 Well, it can be confidently said that reading a novel (or reading in general) can aid significantly in unraveling your mathematical potential. "How?" you'd ask. Reading primarily sharpends your focus (as long as you can sit and read for couple hours straight fully consumed by the narrative), which, I daresay, a big issue among contemporary students and necessary to be able to solve problems with relative ease. Besides, reading more mind-twisting stories, books, or articles that require refined memory and attuned attention to detail is a perfect means of fixing the respective abilities. While I am not fazed about the recent trends on the SAT prep front, there are many misunderstandings on the side of the International applicants about the necessity of the test, one of them being the need for SAT as a must-have point in applicatoin for US universities. This means that many, believing that SAT is something they have to have as a prequisite, overestimate the real value of the exam, later having little to no time to be occupied with what they actually like doing, be it making memes, collecting different rocks, or constructing mini models of rockets. 👀 As the first step, let's peer into why you need and need not SAT. For those in the realm of preparation for US colleges for a more or less long time, the fact that SAT is not as necessary as many think is quite transparent. However, the lay people who only had their first steps there might put too bold an emphasis on test scores. While academics, which include GPA, SAT, and English profficiency, do play a role in application, many other criteria receive more attention from Admission Officers. Evidently, SAT is a simple standard test for the residents of Ameria or Canada. However, it has a life-changing element for International students. Firslty, it is the destination that matters but thr journey. Because SAT requires refined critical thinking, reasoning, and reading abillities, one has to invest in it fully to reach the level he/she looks for. Along the way, those preparing may pick many valuable skills and habits that they lacked prior to the test prep that can be an incredible means of getting ready for academic pressure that university curriculi have. 🚬 Please love and welcome, PSAT! College Board has recently introduced PSAT in Bluebook. The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT, is a practice version of the SAT exam. In America, it serves as a qualifying test for National Merit Scholarship, but, here, we are good to use it for practice purposes only. 🗂 PREP Materials for PAPER-BASED SAT (Practice Tests) As alluded to above, Old SAT prep can provide a significant assistance in honing the acumen necessary for the Digital SAT. It is an optional service provided by the College Board to SAT test takers. ❓HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE DIGITAL SAT 🤷‍♂️ Due to the paucity of resources made specifically for the DSAT, it is by all means possible to delve head-on into the Traditional paper-based SAT. Previously deeming it an improper practice to observe, after certain period of trial, I now believe that Old SAT prep structure works extremely well to kick-start your journey to taking SAT for several reasons: 🔑1) Relevance The skills that Old SAT evaluated are still assessed in the new format. In the Reading section of the test, questions like Inferences, Big Picture, and Words in Context still exist in DSAT. This is also the case with Writing and Math sections, as it is not long that you can detect how similar the question types are there. For example, we used to have ordinary grammar questions that asked to rectify a sentence in a way that makes it gramatically and/or logically correct, and this question type is still present in the new version of the test. As of Math, questions have almost not changed. It's just that they got a little harder and intricate - involving many details and/or steps. 📈 2) Effectiveness The harder is the material the better it is for you. With more pressure you will be able to grow a lot faster. Especially, consdiering that Old SAT demanded a much greater reading comprehension and lexical resource, to practise on the materials for this format can be a great way of honing your acumen for the new format. Imagine, you are concentrated solely on doing the hard things. The easier things, DSAT included, will start seeming a lot less burdensome. 📁 3) More resources 🏅 Since Old SAT format had been with us for more than 5 years, it accomplished to gather many communities centered on it, thus, more resources had been created for the public use. Unlike DSAT, Old SAT offers a larger range of materials and sources to prepare for the exam. Using those consistently, you can manage to enhance you capabilities faster and more effecticely. 📝 First, take your time to review the Old test format, question types, and strategies. Consider taking a diagnostic test however hard or tedious it might not seem. Look through the list of skills necessary to develop to cope with the test. Next, work on improving those skills and do not forget to practise regularly. 📚 To get better at understanding complex texts, you just need to read and try to comprehend texts that you consider to be difficult to understand. Later, as those texts become easier and easier to understand, you will find no trouble tackling Old Reading passages. I personally suggest reading novels, historical texts, and research papers, or articles and analyzing them, learning unfamiliar vocabulary and writing down the main points and ideas. 🫴 Do not be afraid of starting over. Writing section contains mainly grammmar questions, which can seem to be a domain less important to work on. Whatever your level grammar may not be, consider going back to the scratch board, as your knowledge can only be an illusion and might at one point fail you. The same applies to Math section. If you ask how to find old practise tests, they will be sent here as soon as possible.
