This is why the white man was most prolific in genocide and is remembered by other cultures scared of and haunted by us for being the best at it, not because he is the meanest or most evil, far from it; because he is driven by teleology. He wants to get to the end, to a greater state that is always on the horizon. And that sometimes takes tremendous sacrifice. Yet ironically in some ways it has led to the Last Man since we gave up this “danger”, we dropped the sword.
