#shadowing #speaking How to do Shadowing or Imitation Exercise. 5 steps to do it: ➡️ Step 1. Pick short speech (1-minute speech is enough) of a native speaker. It could be your favourite YouTube Blogger, actor, actress, singer os smn else that has a same accent as you, and smn that you admire and imitate a lot. ➡️ Step 2. Listen to the audio and Read the script at the same time for several times. In this step, look up the definition of some unfamiliar words, and pay more attention to how the native are saying words. Pay attention to Pronunciation features such as Individual sounds, Word stress, sentence stress, Connected speech and intonation. ➡️ Step 3. Listen to the audio and repeat after the speaker. Listen to 3-6 words/ chunks, Pause the audio/video and repeat it for several times. Keep doing the same until the end. If it is necessary repeat this process for several times. ➡️ Step 4. Listen and Speak simultaneously (at the same time). Try to imitate the native speaker. Play the audio and speak at the same time. Try copy the speaker ➡️ Step 5.
