A Bedouin in Arafat was saying…

My beloved brother and sister, the day has come—a day in which the hopeful servant yearns for and longs for his Lord's mercy and forgiveness. Do not be heedless on this day; strive and exert effort. Treat this day as the day of acceptance of your dua and the day Allah bestows upon you mercy. Have good thoughts of your Lord and work hard. Do not be taken away by the pleasures of the dunya, such as the TV, phone, and other devices that distract the servant from his Creator. Connect your heart to your Lord, and fill your mouths and hearts with the magnification, reverence, and unification of Allah. This instills in the servant a sincere turning towards their Lord and attachment to Him. Make this blessed Day of Arafah, a day of renewal of your faith in your heart and actions, a day of repentance and a day to get closer to the Almighty. May Allah grant us the ability to fast and worship Him with Ihsan and Ikhlas on the blessed Day of Arafah. May He expand our hearts with His love and envelop us in His blessings and mercy.
