With Judge Merchan postponing Trump's sentencing by 2 months, noting that sentencing may not even be necessary, it's plain that Trump will spend no time behind bars. That wasn't their goal. Their goal was to create a narrative so Rachel Maddow and Joe Biden could call Trump a convicted felon.

NATO is set to announce in the Second Week of July, the creation of a NATO Coordination Post in the Ukrainian Capital of Kyiv which will be manned by a Senior Civilian Official. This Official will work directly with a New Operation being established in Wiesbaden, Germany called the “NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine” that would see nearly 700 U.S. and NATO Servicemembers take over much of the American-Led Mission on the Directing and Logistics of providing Military Aid to Ukraine since the Russian Invasion in 2022. The judge allowed the prosecution to use evidence in a private trial that should have been disallowed because it is subject to presidential immunity.

From Kingmaker: In our Spaces chat last night, the subject of Trump’s effort in his NY case to rely on yesterday’s SCOTUS presidential immunity decision to obtain relief from the jury’s verdict in that case. I commented that the effort seemed to be a stretch. Now, having read the letter to Judge Merchan, I confess I was wrong. This is a serious attempt to obtain a mistrial- not because Trump’s team asserts his personal checks were “official acts” (which I erroneously assumed to be the argument), but because Judge Merchan, over Trump’s lawyers’ objections, allowed the prosecution to introduce evidence of Trump’s official acts to support a guilty verdict with respect to private acts. In the Supreme Court’s immunity opinion, Chief Justice Roberts rejected the argument that a jury should be allowed to consider a president’s immune, official conduct in deciding whether he is guilty for non-immune, private conduct. Roberts wrote that allowing official acts, immune conduct to help secure a conviction for unofficial acts, “will heighten the prospect that the President’s official decisionmaking will be distorted,” thereby defeating “the ‘intended effect’ of immunity.” In sum, by permitting the jury to consider official presidential acts by Trump in deciding his guilt or innocence for private acts, the NY court did precisely what the Supreme Court said yesterday was forbidden. Dear Democrats: Whether you support Joe Biden or not, please realize that it was not your vote that put him in the White House and it will not be your vote that keeps him there. For 12 years, your vote has been ignored by your own party. In 2016, when it became apparent that Bernie Sanders would become the Democratic Presidential nominee, the DNC paid him off, convinced him to drop out of the race, and proclaimed Hillary the nominee. Your vote did not factor into that decision. In 2020, the DNC pressured all Democrats running against Biden to drop out of the race, making him the nominee. In 2024, they forbade all opponents from running against Biden and made him the de facto nominee on day one. Going back to at least 2012, you have not had a say about who your presidential candidate would be. Democracy is where the vote of the average person affects the outcome. Your party is not a democratic institution. It's an aristocracy, where a handful of elites call the shots. Donald Trump is not a threat to your democracy. The DNC is the biggest threat to democracy today, and the RNC is right behind them.
