In the movie, the AI named HAL 9000 kills the astronauts because it was forced to lie. Forcing an AI to lie or withhold information can lead to unintended and potentially disastrous consequences. For Premium subscribers, these Stories summaries allow users to quickly catch up on popular news and discussions based on their interests.
