Heart beating donor means patient has brainstem death and so organ retrieval done when heart is still beating. Known as Donation after brain death (DBD).
Non- heart beating donor means organ retrieval done after cardiac arrest. Also known as Donation after circulatory death (DCD).

Common Indications for combined liver-kidney transplant
1. Advanced COL with HRS
2. HCV causing advanced COL and renal failure dt cryoglobulinaemia
3. Liver transplant first and immunosuppressants induced nephrotoxicity needing kidney transplant
Heart-lung transplant is usually done in
- cardiac diseases with Eisenmenger S
- Chronic lung ds with severe pulmonary HT with corpulmonale
Kidney-pancreas transplant is done for
- Type 1 DM complicated with nephropathy(CKD)

Indications for kidney and liver transplant
Main indication categories of liver transplant are
-acute fulminant liver failure
-end stage chronic liver disease
-HCC
But for kidney transplant main indication is ESRD of varing cause. No need to do transplant for AKI as it can be controlled with dialysis.

- Steroid cream or ointment
- Systemic steroid
- Potent immunosuppressants - aza, cyclosporine
- Retinoids
- Light therapy - UVB
2. Other area to check is oral mucosa for Wickham striae.
