Apple announced it will implement Advanced Data Protection (ADP) for iCloud, which uses end-to-end encryption. This means that only users with authorized devices can access data in the associated iCloud. Effectively, it is the exact technology used for private key storage on the blockchain. For example, in Trust Wallet, the private key is stored on the device that downloaded the app, which will be the only device that can access this key. Even Trust Wallet developers will not be able to access the generated private key. The technology is planned to be implemented in early 2023. With ADP, neither the police nor intelligence agencies can force Apple to share users' personal data. This may have a positive impact on data privacy as well as a negative one, as the data of suspected criminals and terrorists will not be accessible to law enforcement agencies because companies do not have the ability to do so again.
