According to Morocco’s state broadcaster Medi 1 TV, those detained included 294 migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa and 61 Moroccan nationals accused of facilitating the attempted crossings. Police reportedly used tear gas to disperse groups gathering on hills near the border, while Spain deployed additional soldiers and hundreds of police officers to Ceuta. 🇿🇦🇮🇳 South African Coal Giant Sees 461% Profit Surge South African coal exporter Thungela Resources is considering investments in new mines as it anticipates strong future demand for coal. The Johannesburg- and London-listed company reported that its first-half profit jumped 461% to R1.4 billion, compared with the same period last year. The company also declared an interim dividend of 550 cents, up 175% year-on-year. Thungela attributed the surge to higher coal prices and increased sales volumes. India has become a major market, accounting for almost half of the company’s R15.2 billion revenue during the first six months of 2026. Thungela CEO Moses Madondo said demand for coal from India’s iron and power sectors is expected to remain massive. Philippine Ambassador to India Josel Ignacio said the supersonic cruise missiles provide Manila with “real credible deterrence” and fit the country’s archipelagic defence needs. The Philippines is now prioritising integrated air and missile defence, mid-range launchers and stronger radar systems. But analysts warn that becoming an arms exporter like India will not happen overnight. For Manila, the more realistic path may be deeper cooperation with India first — followed gradually by domestic defence production. BrahMos is more than a missile deal.
