सनान्तन हिंदू धर्म के अनुसार इस समय हम उन पूर्वजों (पितरों) के प्रति भी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करते हैं जो इस संसार से विदा हो चुके हैं। पूर्वजों को याद करने, उनके निम्न अन्न-जल दान करने और उनकी आत्मा की शांति के लिए प्रार्थना करने के इस पवित्र समय को 'पितृ पक्ष' (Pitru Paksha) या 'महालय' कहा जाता है।
हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार, भाद्रपद मास की पूर्णिमा से लेकर आश्विन मास की अमावस्या (सर्वपितृ अमावस्या) तक के पूरे 16 दिनों को 'पितृ पक्ष' माना जाता है। 😇
पितृ पक्ष सिर्फ़ एक परंपरा नहीं,
बल्कि अपनी जड़ों को याद करने का वह समय है,
जब हम उन अपनों को स्मरण करते हैं,
जो आज हमारे बीच नहीं हैं, लेकिन हमारी हर साँस में कहीं न कहीं बसे हैं।🙃🤍

बल्कि उनकी दी हुई सीख, संस्कार, संघर्ष और प्रेम से याद करते हैं।
उनके अधूरे सपनों को आगे बढ़ाना,
उनकी अच्छी परंपराओं को जीवित रखना
और आने वाली पीढ़ी को अपनी विरासत सौंपना भी
एक तरह का सच्चा तर्पण ही तो है।
शायद इसी का नाम संस्कृति है
जहाँ बीत चुके लोग भी
हमारी यादों, संस्कारों और कर्मों में
हमारे साथ चलते रहते हैं। ❤️
