⚡️Meeting of members of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter in Brussels 💬Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU Kirill Logvinov participated at a regular meeting of the Heads of Missions of Member States of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter accredited in Brussels, which took place on July 12, 2024 at the Mission of Venezuela to the EU. An informal exchange of views was held on the current international situation marked by numerous threats to multilateralism, including imposion of unilateral coercive measures by the West. ❗️In the context of a new institutional cycle of the EU, the participants expressed their views on the current situation and prospects of the European Union, which is generally considered to be in a deep crisis. Following the results of the meeting of the Group's national coordinators held in Caracas on May 13, 2024, the attendees agreed on the importance of further promotion of the Group's tasks on the Brussels platform.

Постпреда России при ЕС К.М.Логвинов принял участие в состоявшейся 12 июля 2024 г. в дипмиссии Венесуэлы при ЕС очередной рабочей встрече аккредитованных в Брюсселе представителей государств-членов Группы друзей в защиту Устава ООН (ГДУ). В ходе мероприятия состоялся неформальный обмен мнениями о текущей международной ситуации, характеризующейся угрозами мультилатерализму, включая применение Западом односторонних ограничительных мер. ❗️В контексте начала нового институционального цикла ЕС были изложены взгляды на текущее положение дел и перспективы Евросоюза, который, по общим оценкам, переживает сегодня серьезный кризис. В развитие итогов прошедшего 13 мая 2024 г. в Каракасе заседания национальных координаторов ГДУ участники встречи согласились с важностью дальнейшего продвижения задач Группы на брюсселькой площадке.

Europe will eventually have to choose between the US and BRICS Read in full Key points: 💬 Rather than setting out to organize a genuine multipolar system based on mutual recognition of each nation’s core interests, <...> the US proceeded to enhance its exclusive and comprehensive dominance. • This year, at the #BRICS Summit in Russia’s Kazan, the group will for the first time include the leaders of Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Another major Eurasian institution is the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (#SCO) <...> to be admitted soon. A number of other Eurasian countries, from Turkey to Thailand and from the Malpes to Mongolia, have voiced their intention to join either BRICS or SCO. • To counter that trend among the members of what we increasingly call the World Majority, Washington has raised the profile of NATO in the Indo-Pacific; strengthened its Cold War-era bilateral and trilateral alliances in the Western Pacific, and founded a new one, #AUKUS, in the South Pacific. ❗️ All these multiple arrangements are completely dominated by the US and are aimed at containing and deterring Washington’s designated primary adversaries: China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea – with one overriding goal of defending America’s hegemonic position. • In contrast to that, neither BRICS nor the SCO is dominated by a single power, or a tandem/triumvirate of nations. BRICS’s recent expansion also suggests that it does not aspire to become a version of the West’s G7, as an elitist steering group, or directoire, for the non-Western world. • Neither BRICS nor the SCO is overtly anti-American or anti-Western: their main focus is internal rather than external, and they have their work cut out for them. • The emerging mutual security space within the SCO will make the continent – minus Western Europe, for the time being – far more stable, whether in terms of strategic stability in major-power relations, regional security systems, or the risks of terrorism. ☝️ Eventually, the countries of Western Europe – or far western Eurasia, if you like – will have to make a choice between staying in the US orbit as America’s power continues to shrink, or reaching out east to a vast and vibrant new world next door.

🇷🇺🇭🇺 Заявления для прессы по итогам российско-венгерских переговоров Президента В.В.Путина и Премьер-министра В.Орбана. 💬 В.В.Путин: Только что завершились весьма насыщенные переговоры с Премьер-министром Венгрии господином Виктором Орбаном. Важно, что даже в нынешней непростой геополитической обстановке мы продолжаем диалог. Как и в ходе многих предыдущих встреч, у нас состоялся действительно полезный, откровенный разговор как по актуальным аспектам двустороннего взаимодействия, так и, естественно, по острым вопросам международной и региональной повестки дня, включая ситуацию и вокруг Украины. Отмечу, что Россия и Венгрия продолжают сотрудничество по ряду направлений, прежде всего в энергетической сфере. И ключевыми принципами являются здоровый прагматизм и взаимная выгода. Продолжается работа по флагманскому совместному проекту расширения атомной электростанции «Пакш». Ввод в эксплуатацию пятого и шестого блоков позволит увеличить мощность этой станции более чем вдвое. Тем самым будет улучшено энергообеспечение венгерской экономики, снабжение промышленных предприятий и домохозяйств недорогой и чистой энергией. <...> Безусловно, состоялся достаточно обстоятельный, прямой и честный обмен мнениями по актуальным международным вопросам, в том числе по украинскому конфликту. Говорили и о возможных путях его урегулирования. Господин Премьер-министр рассказал о своих недавних встречах в Киеве, где он выступил с рядом предложений и, в частности, с призывом прекратить огонь, чтобы создать условия для начала переговоров с Россией. Что касается России, то неоднократно говорил, что мы всегда были и остаёмся открытыми для обсуждения политико-дипломатического урегулирования. Однако с противной стороны слышим о нежелании решать вопрос именно таким способом. А спонсоры Украины продолжают пытаться использовать эту страну и её народ в качестве тарана, жертвы в противостоянии с Россией. Как нам видится положение дел, в том числе и с учётом услышанного сегодня от господина Премьер-министра, в Киеве всё ещё не готовы отказаться от идеи ведения «войны до победного конца». На мой взгляд, саму мысль о прекращении боевых действий киевский режим не допускает ещё и потому, что в этом случае исчезает предлог для продления военного положения. А если придётся отменить военное положение, значит, придётся и проводить выборы, так и не состоявшиеся в срок. Но шансы победить на них для утративших рейтинг и легитимность украинских правителей близки к нулю. 👉 Наша мирная инициатива была изложена совсем недавно на моей встрече с руководством Министерства иностранных дел Российской Федерации. Её реализация, как нам кажется, позволила бы прекратить боевые действия и начать переговоры. ☝️ Причём это должно быть не просто перемирие или временная приостановка огня, не какая-то пауза, которую киевский режим мог бы использовать, чтобы восстановить потери, перегруппироваться и довооружиться. Россия выступает за полное и окончательное завершение конфликта. Условия для этого, как я уже говорил, изложены в моём выступлении в Министерстве иностранных дел. Речь идёт о полном выводе всех войск Украины из Донецкой и Луганской народных республик, из Запорожской и Херсонской областей. Есть и другие условия. Но это предмет для достаточно подробного рассмотрения в ходе возможной совместной работы. *** С учётом того, что Венгрия с 1 июля председательствует в Совете Европейского союза, мы с господином Орбаном обменялись мнениями о состоянии дел в отношениях России и Евросоюза, которые в настоящее время находятся на самой низкой точке. Говорили и о возможных принципах будущей, возможной тоже, архитектуры безопасности в Европе. В целом переговоры были весьма своевременными и, думаю, полезными для обеих сторон. Конечно, господин Премьер-министр излагал в целом известную нам западную точку зрения, в том числе и с точки зрения интересов Украины. Тем не менее мы признательны господину Премьер-министру за посещение Москвы. Воспринимаем это как попытку восстановить диалог и придать ему дополнительный импульс.

У нас будет, надеюсь, возможность обменяться соображениями по поводу строительства двусторонних отношений в этой непростой ситуации и, конечно, поговорить о перспективах развития самого крупного европейского кризиса, имею в виду на украинском направлении. Мне известно, что совсем недавно, по-моему, 2 июля, Вы были в Киеве и вот прибыли сюда, для того чтобы обсудить все нюансы ситуации, которая сложилась на киевском направлении, на украинском направлении. ⚡️Address by Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU Kirill Logvinov at the briefing “New Security Architecture for the Eurasian Continent”, 3 July 2024 READ IN FULL 💬The fact is that the Euro-Atlantic concept of security has collapsed. Based on US and NATO dominance, the European regional security framework has failed to ensure the practical implementation of the “indivisible security for all” principle. All our appeals and warnings have gone unanswered. The US and its allies have ignored Russian security interests and concerns for years. Moreover, the West has adopted an aggressive stance aimed at inflicting “strategic defeat” on Russia in the conflict in Ukraine. ❌Brussels and Washington are pursuing power politics and the exertion of political and economic pressure on others. Such an approach runs counter to the interests of the majority of independent states on the Eurasian continent. It means that we should work together with interested countries to develop our own strategies for ensuring security in Eurasia and then to present them for broader international deliberation. We believe that the future system of security and cooperation in Eurasia will form a foundation of the global security architecture in a multipolar world based on the UN Charter principles and the rule of international law. The security architecture for the Eurasian continent will be open to all interested Eurasian states. It will not be directed against anyone’s interests. ❗️We need to strengthen and consolidate the existing interaction mechanisms and to build new ones. Dialogue and cooperation will be developed in the areas of mutual interest to the participants. In this way, we will give impetus to the creation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, which in turn will form economic and social basis of the new Eurasian security system.

⚡️Diplomatic corps meet at the Russian Mission on the Eurasian security concept, 3 July 2024   📆On 3 July 2024, the Russian Permanent Mission to the EU hosted a discussion on the initiative put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 14 June 2024 to create a new security architecture in Eurasia. 🌐The working meeting brought together heads and senior staff members of diplomatic missions accredited in Brussels from 35 Eurasian countries, BRICS, the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter as well as representations of international and regional organisations such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the League of Arab States and the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States. 💬Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU Kirill Logvinov stressed inter alia in his address:

The Euro-Atlantic security framework, dominated by the US and NATO, has proved ineffective. The West has long ignored Russian strategic interests and the principle of indivisible security, provoking a series of regional and international conflicts. The Western refusal to agree on mutual security guarantees, as proposed by Russia in late 2021 – early 2022, and its aggressive actions aimed at inflicting a “strategic defeat” on our country in the conflict in Ukraine showed the European Union’s genuine intention to undermine an emerging multipolarity in the world. Given the above, there is an urgent need for a new security architecture in Eurasia and the elimination of the conceptual, institutional and legal vacuum, which creates risks for the interests of Russia, its allies and partners. The model proposed by our country relies on the principles of dialogue, cooperation and respect for the sovereign decisions of its participants. Building such a framework requires strengthening and interconnecting existing and creating new mechanisms of interaction. In this way, impetus will be given to the creation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, which in turn will form economic and social basis of the new Eurasian security system.

❗️The event at the Permanent Mission was particularly relevant given the EU’s information blockade, its attempts to impose a black-and-white image of the processes taking place in the world and to build relations with third countries along the lines of "whoever is not with us is against us". 🤝Officials from the states of the Global Majority confirmed their interest in continuing the exchange of views on the concept of Eurasian security, including within the Brussels format.

⚡️О встрече с дипкорпусом по тематике концепции евразийской безопасности, 3 июля 2024 г.   📆3 июля 2024 г. в Постпредстве России при ЕС состоялось обсуждение озвученной Президентом России В.В.Путиным 14 июня 2024 г. инициативы создания на пространстве Евразии новой архитектуры безопасности. 🌐 В рабочей встрече приняли участие руководители и старшие дипломаты аккредитованных в Брюсселе дипмиссий 35 стран Евразии, БРИКС, Группы друзей в защиту Устава ООН, а также представительств международных и региональных организаций, в т.ч. Организации исламского сотрудничества, Лиги арабских государств и Организации африканских, карибских, тихоокеанских государств. 💬И.о.Постпреда России при ЕС К.М.Логвинов в своей речи, в частности, акцентировал:

Евроатлантическая концепция, предполагающая доминирование США и НАТО, доказала свою несостоятельность. На протяжении долгого времени Запад игнорировал стратегические интересы России, а также принцип неделимости безопасности, что спровоцировало целый ряд региональных и международных конфликтов. Отказ западников от согласования обоюдных гарантий безопасности на основе российских предложений в конце 2021 г. – начале 2022 г., а также агрессивные действия, направленные на нанесение нашей стране «стратегического поражения» в контексте украинского кризиса, продемонстрировали истинные намерения Евросоюза, стремящегося подорвать формирование многополярного мира. В этих условиях налицо востребованность новой архитектуры безопасности в Евразии, устранения концептуального, нормативно-правового и институционального вакуума, создающего риски для интересов России, ее союзников и партнеров. Предлагаемая нашей страной модель базируется на принципах диалога, сотрудничества и уважения суверенных решений ее участников. Для построения такой модели необходимо укрепление и сопряжение имеющихся и создания новых механизмов взаимодействия. Тем самым будет придан импульс формированию Большого Евразийского Партнерства, которое станет социально-экономической основой новой системы безопасности в Евразии.

❗️Мероприятие в Постпредстве стало востребованным с учетом введенной есовцами информационной блокады, их попыток навязать черно-белую картинку происходящих в мире процессов и выстраивания отношений с третьими странами по схеме «кто не с нами, тот против нас». 🤝Представители государств Мирового большинства подтвердили заинтересованность в продолжении обмена мнениями по вопросу концепции евразийской безопасности, в т.ч. на «брюссельской» площадке.

However, with the adoption of another, 14th "package", the EU politicians have continued their favourite pastime of "sawing off the branch they are sitting on”. 🔹They act this way because from the very beginning, the worsening of the socio-economic situation in the EU has been blamed on the so-called "Russian threat". And now the EU simply cannot stop imposing this logic on the population. UKRAINE AND MOLDOVA JOIN THE EU 🔹The opening of accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova is politicised and has nothing to do with the enlargement of the trade and economic association that the EU used to be. 🔹Had the West not opted for a long-term geopolitical confrontation with Russia, using both Ukraine and Moldova as its tools, the EU would not have needed Kiev, let alone Chisinau, to the extent it does now. 🔹The ideology of total confrontation with our country implies keeping all EU aspiring states in its orbit at all costs, even at the cost of erasing the original nature of the European project. 🔹All the enlargement developments that are taking place now or will take place in the near future with regard to Ukraine and Moldova stem solely from the excessive, unfounded geopolitical and ideological ambitions of the Eurobureaucracy. 🔹The European Union has become obsessed with ideological positioning in the world, the ideological search for answers to the challenges facing Brussels, and ideological confrontation. The negotiations with Kiev and Chisinau, among others, should be seen in this light. EU – UKRAINE SECURITY COMMITMENTS AGREEMENT 🔹This is not a legally binding document. It reflects the decisions the EU has already taken or intends to take as part of its multi-faceted support for Kiev. The provision that the document will only be reviewed in ten years' time shows once again that the EU is determined to use Ukraine for the purpose of long-term confrontation with Russia. EU TOP JOBS APPOINTMENTS 🔹At the present historical stage, we do not care who will be at the helm of an organisation whose vital ambition is to inflict a strategic defeat on our country. One more or one less Russophobe in the EU leadership would not change much. 🔹Rising EU star Kaja Kallas is the most interesting piece in the jobs puzzle. She is likely to be another Annalena Baerbock, but at the European level. The EU has followed a steady path to deserve Kaja Kallas as the head of its diplomacy. Such a "landmark choice" was brought about, among other things, by a complete lack of independence in the international arena, a readiness to compromise its sovereignty in favour of globalist transatlantic interests. Let the European capitals watch for five years as the EU's foreign and security policy is messed up on their behalf.
