Article Analyzes India's fragile trade balance, rupee risks, and diversification need amid U.S. tariffs and AI threats to exports:
➡️ Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday that India-U.S. trade talks have reached a “plateau” and further concessions from either side might be difficult.
➡️ India's critical trade surplus with the U.S. offsets a structural deficit with China, but potential U.S. tariffs and AI-driven export losses threaten to weaken the rupee and deplete forex reserves.
➡️A new tariff would reduce dollar supply to India, exacerbating currency depreciation risks amid rising crude oil costs.
➡️ India should view the tariff threat as a wake-up call to diversify its export markets toward the Global South and broaden its product mix.

Stable coin has been was asked already in RBI Grade B Phase II Finance Paper for 10 Marks.
Stablecoins and it's regulation:
➡️ A stablecoin is a digital token designed to maintain a value close to one US dollar, typically backed by reserve assets such as cash and short-term US government securities held by the issuer.
➡️In functional terms, it provides users with access to dollar-denominated value without requiring them to hold dollars through a conventional bank account.
➡️India occupies a complex position in this emerging shift. It currently has no dedicated legislation governing cryptocurrencies or stablecoins.
➡️In its Financial Stability Report in mid-2026, the RBI also warned that widespread adoption of privately issued stablecoins could weaken the effectiveness of monetary policy and contribute to fragmentation within the payments system it oversees.
➡️Bringing stablecoin activity within an appropriate supervisory framework would allow policymakers to address associated risks.
