The canadian government is asking some recent immigrants for their citizenship certificates back for re-review. This is probably just an optic to show that there is something being done in the face of the pushback by whites in UK and Ireland. But as it states by the government sources its not a revocation its just confirming paperwork *Canada’s citizenship department sent emails on June 13 to some recent recipients of citizenship certificates, telling them their approved citizenship claims are now under review. * The people affected had already received citizenship certificates, and some had even prepared for moving to Canada with a passport and Social Insurance Number. *The letters say the case is being reviewed, not that citizenship has been revoked. Recipients are asked to return the paper certificate while IRCC re-examines the file. * The government can request a certificate back under subsection 26(1) of the Citizenship Regulations if there is reason to believe the person may not be entitled to it. * Recipients are allowed to submit additional documents to support their claim, and the certificate will be returned if entitlement is confirmed. *The main reasons these files were flagged were: documents not coming from the original source authority, or missing explanations/proof for records that could not be obtained. * Govt. recommends getting records directly from official source authorities, using certified copies, and including a written explanation plus “no record” letters when documents do not exist.
