”Those who recite and hold the Mantra of Great Compassion (Da Bei Zhou) will not suffer any of these 15 kinds of bad death and will obtain the following 15 kinds of good birth: They will always meet good friends. They will always be born in a good country. They will always be born at a good time. Their place of birth will always have a good king. Their family will be kind and harmonious. Their heart will be pure and full in the way. They will not violate the prohibitive precepts. The organs of their body will always be complete. They will obtain everything they seek. They will always obtain the help and respect of others. Their riches will not be plundered. They will always have the necessary goods and wealth in abundance. In the place where they are born, they will see the Buddha and hear the Dharma. Dragons, gods, and good spirits will always protect them. They will awaken to the profound meaning of that Proper Dharma which they hear. “Those who chant and hold the Great Compassion Mantra will obtain these 15 kinds of good birth. All people and gods should constantly chant and hold it, without carelessness.” – Great Compassion Dharani Sutra.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3nniYP_amg

Mantra of Avalokiteshvara Mahākaruṇika Dhāraṇī ( Great Compassion ) - Sanskrit chant by Anup Panthi

I have been receiving many requests for this Dhāraṇī Mantra. Profound but rarest of all, Since it is not consecrated in one Chanda ( meter) It has many ways of chanting but hearing it in Sanskrit or on youtube is not available as of this. Sanskrit pronunciation is correct as of my best knowledge but meter can vary from teachers to teachers. I have dared to gift this mantra to the practitioners if I have made mistake, which I have made I know, Please accept my apology and forgive my ignorance. One of the best way to listen to this mantra is actually sitting in a comfortable meditative posture and allowing the sounds to resonate your entire body through your ears. The Nīlakaṇṭha Dhāraṇī also known as the Mahākaruṇā(-citta) Dhāraṇī, Mahākaruṇika Dhāraṇī or Great Compassion Dhāraṇī, (Chinese: 大悲咒 Dàbēi zhòu; Japanese: 大悲心陀羅尼 Daihishin darani or 大悲呪 Daihi shu; Vietnamese: Chú đại bi or Đại bi tâm đà la ni; Korean: 신묘장구대다라니 (Hanja: 神妙章句大陀羅尼) Sinmyo janggu daedarani). Nīlakaṇṭha means blue-throated, while Mahākaruṇīka means Greatly Compassionate. It is preserved in several versions in the Chinese canon but in each case, the Sanskrit is badly corrupted. I use the reconstructed Sanskrit version by Lokesh Chandra working from the various versions in his article Origin of the Avalokitesvara of Potala. The text contains many obvious features assimilated from both Śaiva and Vaiṣṇa milieus - the very name Nīlakaṇṭha is strongly associated with Śiva. #nilkanthadharani #mahakarunadharani #greatcompassion #tibet #mantra

"Disciples of the Buddha, if you wish to repay your parents' kindness, write out this Sutra on their behalf. Recite this Sutra on their behalf. Repent of transgressions and offenses on their behalf. For the sake of your parents, make offerings to the Triple Gem. For the sake of your parents, hold the precept of pure eating. For the sake of your parents, practise giving and cultivate blessings. If you are able to do these things, you are being a filial child. If you do not do these things, you are a person destined for the hells."

"The virtue of one's parents' kindness is boundless and limitless. If one has made the mistake of being unfilial, how difficult it is to repay that kindness!"

The Buddha told Ananda, "When I contemplate living beings, I see that although they are born as human beings, nonetheless, they are ignorant and dull in their thoughts and actions. They don't consider their parents' great kindness and virtue. They are disrespectful and turn their backs on kindness and what is right. They lack humaneness and are neither filial nor compliant."

"The kind mother is like the great earth. The stern father is like the encompassing heaven: One covers from above; the other supports from below. The kindness of parents is such that They know no hatred or anger toward their offspring, And are not displeased, even if the child is born crippled. After the mother carries the child in her womb and gives birth to it, The parents care for and protect it together until the end of their days."
