Analogy (from Market Wizards)
A champion athlete can finish a race in record time, making it look easy & effortless. However, the same would be very strenuous & difficult to finish for an out-of-shape person.
Reason?
The athlete is prepared. He has put all the hard work & trying in the preparation phase. The actual act of running the race, however is effortless.

Good trading is effortless. It involves no struggle or trying hard. If you want to work hard, do that in the preparation. The actual process of trading itself, however should be effortless.

I took this decision 4 yrs ago. Dissociated myself from the mindless scrolls of social media.
I was surprised at how much more time I started having in my life & energy to dedicate to more meaningful goals. Have never gone back on this decision since.

As you can see these are pretty intuitively obvious metrics to look at for a breakout/swing trader like me.
I donāt know anything fancy. I donāt need any fancy indicators either.
Nothing beats a strong understand of the basics of demand/supply & the action of the stocks themselves.

I say my market because I trade individual stocks (mostly smaller cap names) that are within 25% of their 52w highs.
This is my market. Anything else is irrelevant. Including the indices.
