Polytech held an award ceremony for the winners of the Best International Grant for PhD competition for outstanding international PhD students. 🌍 Over 30 PhD students from 14 countries participated. Climbing three positions at once in such a competitive ranking is a huge success and a recognition of the quality of IT education at Polytech. Polytech Universe is growing: our 6th satellite is in orbit! 🛰 Great news from the final frontier! The Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of SPbPU, together with the Special Technology Center (STC), has successfully launched a new nanosatellite. The PU-6 CubeSat (16U format) blasted off from the Vostochny Cosmodrome aboard a Soyuz-2.1b rocket. A few hours after launch, our ground control station established contact with the satellite, and testing of all its systems has begun.

Its "superpowers" for science include: 📡 Monitoring radio-frequency emissions 🛳 Receiving AIS data from ships 📡 Testing new high-speed inter-satellite communication tech 📍 Advanced geolocation tasks

The data it collects will also be used in our educational programs, giving students hands-on experience with real space missions.

Fantastic news from SPbPU! 🥈 Our international student team "Eurasia Express" has won silver at the World Championship of Russian as a Foreign Language! 🏆 In the finals in Moscow, where the top teams from over 4,500 participants across 66 countries competed, our squad excelled in debates and case studies, finishing second in the European division.

🌟 Congratulations to Maximilian Terentyev, Anastasia Choki, Rakhmatulla Babajanov, and their mentors on this brilliant victory! It's a testament to their exceptional language skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

Beyond the competition, the team immersed themselves in culture, visiting Moscow's museums, including the profound "Road of Memory" memorial complex. We are so proud of our students!

Our ‘Eurasia Express’ Takes Silver at the World Championship of Russian as a Foreign Language! We are incredibly proud to announce that our international student team ‘Eurasia Express’ from the Graduate School of Media Communications and Public Relations has won 2nd place (Silver) in the European division of the World Championship in Moscow! 🏆 The Competition: After competing against over 4,500 participants from 66 countries, our team (Maximilian Terentyev, Anastasia Choki, Rakhmatulla Babajanov) reached the finals. They excelled in intense face-to-face discussions, case studies, and tasks testing language mastery and intercultural understanding. 💬 In Their Words: Maximilian Terentyev, team captain, on the name ‘Eurasia Express’: “It reflects the idea that Russia, where we study, unites different cultures and nationalities.” Rakhmatulla Babajanov: “Although we took second place, it’s a victory for us! The Russian language brought people together... Next year we are going to compete for the main prize again!” 🌟 More Than a Competition: Beyond the intellectual battle, the trip was a profound cultural experience. The team explored Moscow and visited significant sites like the ‘Memory Road’ museum complex, deepening their understanding of Russian history. A huge congratulations to our brilliant students and their mentors! This achievement showcases not just exceptional language skills, but also teamwork, strategic thinking, and the unifying power of education.
