You’d think surely they have factored in harms to those with false positive screening test results. But no, they haven’t. Screening for prostate cancer has similar numbers. For each man “saved”, dozens end up with unnecessary treatment, including surgery, from which permanent, life changing adverse effects are by no means rare.
