However, the speaker may also bring the object to another recipient. For example: •I would like to bring my dog to your barbecue. Is that okay? •I promise I'll bring Johnny home by 11 o’clock. When the subject of the sentence is someone else, using "bring" implies that the subject is moving an object toward the speaker. For example, •Should he bring all the groceries into the kitchen? For example, •She wants to take the cat to the vet. •They’re going to take the pizza to the student lounge for their study session. ⚜When to Use Fetch To fetch is similar to to bring because both indicate moving an object toward the subject, speaker or listener. However, to fetch has an added layer of meaning about the location of the object. When using the word fetch, the object is generally far away. To fetch something means traveling a distance to get the object before bringing it back toward the speaker, listener or subject. For example: •Please fetch the remote control from the living room so I can change the batteries. •I'll fetch the newspapers while you make brunch. •The dog will run and fetch the stick when you throw it. •Can you fetch the earrings I lent you before I leave? @selfstudy_88
