The line graph provides data on the proportion of workers who did not come to work because of illness in five different countries between 1991 and 2001. Notably, the number of of absent workers in the Netherlands fluctuated visibly, whereas the figures for the UK and Germany stayed relatively unchanged. In 1991, approximately 5% of workers in France were absent fro work due to illness, while the figure for the Netherlands was a lit lower, at nearly 5%. In the following year, there was a noticeable increase in both figures, reaching 5,2 % and 5,5% respectively. During the period between 1992 and 1996, the was a significant fall in the proportion of absent employees, reaching a low of almost 4%. However, this figure then experienced growth and recovered its peak in 1992 in the final year. In France, the percentage of absent workers decreased gradually and reached a low of 3 % in 2001.
