MAN ARRESTED FOR EDITING POLICE CLEARANCE A 25-year-old man from a mix parentage of Western and Gulf who was in the act of editing a police clearance was caught by the police in the National Capital District and is now detained in the cell for further investigation. National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika confirmed that the suspect was arrested by the police Reservists and police officers who were patrolling around the Vision City area on Friday. He said according to the police report that he received the suspect was an employee of Kisok a company based at Vision City. He said the suspect was editing the police clearance when an off-duty police officer at that location saw him. “What the man was doing caught the off-duty police officer who then stood there observed him for some time and saw everything that happened. He quickly informed the other units who were close by Vision City who proceeded to the scene and arrested the man”, Metsupt Sika said. Sika said the police officers upon questioning the suspect admitted editing the police clearance form using the computer. He said the police officers also called the company manager to confirm if the man worked there and he confirmed that the 25-year-old suspect works there. He said what the man did is illegal and the company does not do that. Metsupt Sika also warned the public who are using the technology to edit and approve documents like police clearance, medical reports and others must stop. He said those individuals who need such must follow the process to get it so those issuing the documents will do proper checks before issuing them the documents. He said if the majority of the people can follow the process by sacrificing their time to get these documents everyone must do the same. He said forging other people`s signatures is a crime. Sika also thanked the police off-duty police officers and the other duty officers who responded and successfully apprehended the suspect. End//
