⚠️ FALSE CLAIM 🚫 An article, written in, 2022 by Vision News titled, Oxfordshire County Council Pass Climate Lockdown 'Trial' to Begin in 2024, has once again reared its ugly head on social media and also found its way on Telegram. The article falsely claimed that "climate lockdowns" would begin in 2024, but the focus of the actual article was on the concept of 15-minute cities. Vision News was the only news source of this claim and attempted to "Fact Check" their own source with the following reference. 👈 Additional attempts were made by them to fact-check the claims about "climate lockdowns," with other news outlets debunking their claims. The article also discusses Oxfordshire County Council's plans to conduct trials using ANPR surveillance cameras, as revealed in another article titled "Oxfordshire Council Spending Plans for ANPR Camera Revealed." According to Reuters, this was part of Oxford's Transport Strategy since 2015. Vision News conveniently took 15-minute cities and placed their own spin on it. This is not to state that "Climate Change" will never happen, we're merely pointing out the falseness of this particular article. Note: Oxford City Council is a signatory of the Oxfordshire Energy Strategy, which sets out our countywide commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030. This ambition is aligned to the Council's proposed carbon budgets. This highlights the importance of fact-checking and critically analysing news sources to ensure accurate information is being disseminated. ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

🟢 "STRANGE" NHI PROMISES AS RAMAPHOSA KEEPS LOOKING FOR HIS PEN Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi has repeated the intention to buy 18 private hospitals in the province for the NHI – despite an expert calling the move nonsensical, unfeasible and “very strange”, given the lack of funding to do so and there being no need for it. Writing a column for the Sunday Times, Lesufi doubled down on many of his talking points made during his State of the Province Address in February, specifically the call for President Cyril Ramaphosa to sign the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill into law. The president previously vowed to sign the bill into law before the 2024 elections, stating that he was “looking for a pen” to do so. The pen has proved elusive, as almost two months later, the laws are still pending. ⭕️ Let us know your views in the comments on Telegram https://t.me/dearsafrica ⭕️ Follow the Dear South Africa campaigns on our website dearsouthafrica.co.za More on this here... https://businesstech.co.za/news/business-opinion/762809/strange-nhi-promises-as-ramaphosa-keeps-looking-for-his-pen/

Reject eThekwini Municipality's Tariff Increases The eThekwini Ratepayers & Resident's Association and its affiliates are vehemently opposing proposed tariff increases in eThekwini Municipality, South Africa. They argue against such increases due to ongoing issues with service delivery, particularly in water, electricity, sanitation, and refuse collection. Despite these deficiencies, the municipality is proposing substantial tariff hikes: 14.0% for electricity, 14.9% for water, 12.9% for sanitation, and 9.9% for refuse collection. The residents highlight that service delivery in eThekwini Municipality has been consistently poor, with complaints ranging from irregular water supply to frequent power outages and substandard sanitation practices. These problems not only disrupt daily life but also hamper economic activities in the community. It is deemed unjust for the municipality to demand higher tariffs while failing to provide reliable services. The residents call for unity in opposing these increases until tangible improvements in service delivery are realized. They urge all residents, regardless of background or age, to unite against the proposed hikes, emphasizing that this issue affects everyone. ✤ Sign the Petition! ✍️ ✍️ ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

Facebook & META plan to interfere with South Africa's election process Meta's involvement in South African elections, particularly through its platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has raised concerns regarding potential interference and manipulation of information. By collaborating directly with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Meta aims to curb the spread of misinformation, but there are implications of propaganda and control. Firstly, Meta's cooperation with the IEC indicates a proactive effort to prevent its platforms from being utilized as tools for spreading misinformation. However, the extent of this collaboration raises questions about the influence Meta might exert over the electoral process. While the intention may be to safeguard the integrity of the elections, the methods employed could inadvertently suppress dissenting voices or manipulate public opinion. Nick Clegg, Meta's President of Global Affairs, emphasized the provision of extensive guidance to the IEC on utilizing social media platforms effectively. While this guidance may include strategies to identify and counter misinformation, it also opens the door for Meta to shape the narrative surrounding the elections. By controlling the flow of information and setting guidelines for what is deemed acceptable content, Meta potentially wields significant influence over public discourse. Furthermore, Meta's actions could be interpreted as a form of propaganda, as it seeks to control the narrative surrounding the elections in a manner that aligns with its corporate interests. The emphasis on combating misinformation may inadvertently lead to the suppression of legitimate political discourse or dissenting viewpoints, thus undermining the democratic process. Overall, while Meta's collaboration with the IEC may be well-intentioned in its efforts to combat misinformation, the implications of such involvement raise concerns about the potential for propaganda and interference in South African elections. It underscores the broader challenge of balancing the need to preserve the integrity of online platforms with safeguarding democratic principles such as freedom of expression and information. ✤ Source: My Broadband ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

WHO & the Red Crescent evacuated Fadi Al Zant and Noor Al Jarbou, facing severe peril from the famine in North Gaza. For the past two months, Fadi al-Zant, a 6 year old Palestinian boy, has rapidly lost weight due to a severe shortage of medicine and food in Israeli-besieged northern Gaza. He has been at Kamal Adwan hospital where he is being treated for malnutrition. His condition is complicated because he cannot receive essential treatment for cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease he has had since birth. This disease requires a specific diet, including vegetables, fruits, eggs, nuts, and other mashed foods beneficial for his body, his mother, Shaimaa, told Anadolu news agency.  Doctors are unable to provide him with medicines because of the ongoing blockade of imports into the besieged territory. Zant has been living in the hospital for two months on a ventilator that helps open his airways, receiving necessary intravenous solution. #ceasefire ➣ Continue Reading... 📚 👀 ➥ Join: #LeaveOurKidsAlone
