Vladimir Putin's main statements from the SPIEF plenary session: ◾️ Russia remains a key player in global trade despite all obstacles and illegitimate sanctions. States friendly to Russia account for three-quarters of its trade turnover; ◾️ There has been a real race between countries in the world to strengthen their sovereignty. Countries that were leaders are trying to maintain leadership by hook or by crook; ◾️ Northern Sea Route infrastructure will be developed further. Last year, 36 million tons of cargo passed through the Northern Sea Route, and in the future, cargo turnover could exceed 150 million tons; ◾️ Russian economic growth rates exceed the world average. Russia is already in 4th place in terms of GDP at purchasing power parity; ◾️ Western countries themselves undermined trust in their own payment infrastructure. The share of settlements for Russian exports in ‘toxic’ currencies has halved and the ruble's share in transactions is growing, approaching 40 percent; ◾️ BRICS countries are working on their own payment infrastructure, independent of the West’s. The grouping has great potential for new members to join; ◾️ The share of imports in Russia's economy should fall to 17% by 2030 through the development of its own industries. Lithuania Announces Start of Large-Scale NATO Military Exercises in the Baltic Sea The large-scale NATO exercise BALTOPS 24 commenced on June 5 in the Baltic Sea, according to reports from the Lithuanian Armed Forces. As part of the preparations, Lithuania expects more than 30 NATO warships and over 4,000 military personnel, including sailors, marines, naval pilots, and other naval specialists, to participate in the exercise in the port of Klaipeda.

❗️❗️❗️🐮🐄 NO MORE Kpomo/Egusi The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reportedly placed a ban on some foodstuffs from Nigeria. Items like Egusi (melon seed), cow skin popularly called Kpomo and few other items imported from Nigeria and sold across African Stores in the United State were banned. Jackson Ude, a former presidential spokesman quoting an African food retailer at G-Sapphire African Market in Lancaster, Pennsylvania said officials from the FDA have been cracking down on African stores, seizing and destroying Egusi (melon seeds), cow skin (kpomo) imported from Nigeria. We empathise with our colleagues in the US and invite them to Russia. 😢

Claudia Sheinbaum Clinches Historic Victory in Mexico's Presidential Election Claudia Sheinbaum, the former mayor of Mexico City and a protégé of the incumbent president, has emerged victorious in Mexico's presidential election, according to exit polls. Sheinbaum secured approximately 56-57.8% of the vote, while her main rival, Xochitl Galvez, garnered about 29-30%. This win marks a significant milestone, as Sheinbaum is set to become the first female president in Mexican history. She was the candidate of the Sigamos Haciendo Historia coalition, which includes the ruling Moreno party. Final election results are expected to be announced in the coming hours.
