CREATING HOPE IN AFRICA FELLOWSHIP | RTLS 2024 SOCIALS All Rotarians, Rotaractors, On behalf of Rotary International Director (RID) Patrick Chisanga, PDG Victor P.K. Mensah - HOC Chair, Africa RTLS 2024 is happy to announce that from 19-23 June 2024, Ethiopia (D9212) will play host to delegates from across Africa for the Regional Team Learning Seminar (RTLS). RTLS is the primary learning and certification event for all incoming Regional and Zone Officers of Rotary before they take office in July. The details of the project implementation are as below: *Project:* Rotary Bangalore West & Rotary E-club Innovation UK are joining hands to provide an advanced Thermal Imaging Camera to the Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Centre as a District Grant Project. *Thermal imaging camera:* is a non-invasive tool used to detect injuries, inflammations and infectious diseases. It is regularly used for fever screening, injury discovery, pain/inflammation and dermatology. It is also a very useful scientific research tool. *Recent Additional project development as follows:* We are also planning to Adopt Odum and Milie and Provide all food costs for one year. *Highlights:* * They are very cute and naughty rescue bears being protected in Bannerghatta National Park. * Odum is the most favorite of all the visitors. * Miss Millie is the youngest at the centre. Despite her paw injury, she is the naughtiest one at the centre. * The Bannerghatta bear rescue centre currently holds over 60 rescued sloth bears amidst the lush greens and rocks of the dry -deciduous Bannerghatta Biological Park, making it the world's second largest rescue centre for sloth bears. * A perfect home for the rescued sloth bears to spend the rest of their lives away from the trauma and torture they had to endure during the horrendous dancing bear practice which they were victims of and also from human-bear conflict situations and illegal poaching activities as well. There are specific needs for each bear at the center in terms of the injuries and pain they have suffered.
