Let's make a grass disdain throwback with some iconic statement made by Marat about grass and Wimbledon π
Note: a dry humour is necessary for reading the article π€ͺ
Andrey is at Halle but training under cover because it's raining.
βΈοΈ 𧱠βοΈ π±
The clay season will be halted for now, allowing the grass season to enter the scene (thankfully, only for a couple of weeks π).
It was a very productive period, with some good runs, tough matches, fights and comebacks and even a final, although the loss was hard to digest at first. I'm very happy with Andrey's progress and one can see that he's on the good track, even though patience is still required to see a fruitful result.
Andrey will return on clay after the grass season as he signed up for the Swedish Open and Estoril. Nothing compares with some extra dirty socks after the grass montagne russe π.
Jokes aside, I hope for a great run this grass season as Andrey has the game for it and it's not so bad as long as we have the Wimbledon aesthetics π±π€. Plus, we *might* have a nice surprise this time at the third Slam π (*might because last year it didn't happen, but now things seem in a more solid place). We hope for the best ππ
Let's go, @andreyrublev ! π±πͺπΌ

β€οΈβπ©Ή Goodbye Paris π«π·
I think everyone who will read the caption will understand the result. I cannot focus right now on the details of the match that led to this ending. Unfortunately, it's a very painful ending to an amazing match.
The start was slow, the tiebreak in the 2nd set could have gone better and I think that it would have favoured Andrey's chances. The third and fourth were Andrey's best moments this evening. During the last set, the signs were there that only a deep confidence could save the match, because the tank was empty. And as we all know, the confidence of a person who slumped for over a year, takes time to be built back, even if he has all the support he deserves and wishes for.
As a fan I'm deeply sad, but not for the wrong reasons. I'm not sad that he loses an opportunity with this open draw for a better run. Nothing and nobody can predict what will happen tomorrow, so I cannot be sad thinking that this was a better shot, because it was not. A better shot is every week when every player learns from his losses, works harder and takes time to let the improvements set in. Which he already does.
My sadness comes from seeing his fight and knowing how hard he judges himself, especially when the pressure comes from the outside. When people say they support him but write unnecessary comments online to exert pressure on him.
At the same time I'm immensely proud of him and I see how his work pays off, not as fast as in the past when he was top 10 and had more confidence, but amazingly fast for a person that lacks the self-confidence he deserves.
β€οΈβπ©Ή Be proud, Andrey! When you'll let the feelings wash away, allow yourself to see the good part, the improvements, the fight. Have no regrets and don't think about chances. Your experience and hard work will pay off no matter when. The opportunity is anytime and will await for you at the proper time π«ΆπΌ
