Forest regeneration is the act of renewing tree cover by establishing young trees naturally or artificially, promptly after the previous stand or forest has been removed. The 3 ways of forest regeneration Natural Regeneration ; which involves the re-establishment of a forest stand by natural means, i.e by natural seeding or vegetative regeneration. Assisted Natural Regeneration; which involves the re-establishment of the secondary forest from degraded grassland and shrub vegetation by protecting and nurturing the mother trees and their wildlings. Forests consist of 4 layers namely Forest floor; which consists of decomposing leaves, animals remains and dead parts of trees. Understory; which consists of bushes, shrubs and young trees. Canopy; which consists of the uppermost branches of the trees in the forest. Emergent layer; which consists of a few scattered trees that tower over the canopy. .

📌 Wildlife consists of any animal, (aquatic or land) which form part of any habitat. Important categories of species for conservation include: 🔺 Keystone species: These are species that play a critical ecological role. 🔺 Umbrella species: These are species with large home ranges such that their protection provides protection to several other species. 🔺 Flagship species: These are well known, charismatic species that are loved by the public who provide support and funds for their conservation. .

In a distressing incident at Madhya Pradesh’s Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, ten elephants from a herd of thirteen have mysteriously died over three days, prompting an urgent investigation by wildlife authorities. The crisis began on October 29 when a park guard discovered several distressed elephants near their camp. Despite immediate veterinary intervention, the death toll escalated, with preliminary investigations suggesting potential poisoning linked to Kodo millet crops.
