π Three Asian central banks join forces to make stablecoin payments work across borders
Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are taking a closer look at how digital money could move between countries. Their latest cooperation brings banks, payment giants and crypto companies together under one initiative.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ Malaysia's and Thailand's central banks have joined Singapore's BLOOM initiative
π‘ The project focuses on cross-border payments using regulated stablecoins and tokenized bank deposits
β‘οΈ Who is involved
π‘ Ripple, Visa, Mastercard and Airwallex are among the new participants
π‘ Circle, Coinbase, JPMorgan and several major banks are already part of the initiative
β‘οΈ What they want to solve
π‘ Digital money still operates across different networks, regulations and banking systems
π‘ BLOOM aims to develop common approaches for settlement, interoperability and compliance
Conclusion: stablecoins are moving beyond crypto exchanges and into discussions between central banks. There is no new payment network launching just yet, but the groundwork for easier cross-border transfers is becoming more serious.

π¨π Switzerland approves its first spot Bitcoin ETF for retail investors
Switzerland has taken another step toward bringing Bitcoin into traditional finance. Regulator FINMA has approved the country's first spot Bitcoin ETF available to retail investors, with trading expected to begin in November.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ BIT Asset Management received approval for its Bitcoin Fund ETF (BBIT)
π‘ The fund will hold Bitcoin directly and is expected to list on the SIX Swiss Exchange
β‘οΈ What makes it different
π‘ Switzerland already has crypto investment products, but this is its first spot Bitcoin ETF structured as a regulated Swiss investment fund
π‘ Investors will be able to access BTC through traditional brokerage accounts without managing their own crypto wallets
β‘οΈ Why it matters
π‘ The ETF brings Bitcoin into a familiar investment structure with custody and investor-protection requirements
π‘ FINMA still warns that Bitcoin's volatility makes the product highly risky, despite regulatory approval
Conclusion: Bitcoin does not need a new blockchain feature to attract traditional investors. Sometimes, what matters most is making it available through financial products they already understand.

π¦ Deutsche Bank prepares crypto custody launch with Asia expansion in sight
One of Europeβs largest banks is preparing to enter digital asset custody. Deutsche Bank plans to offer institutional clients secure storage of Bitcoin, Ether and selected stablecoins, with a possible expansion into Asia in 2027.
β‘οΈ What is planned
π‘ The bank aims to introduce its custody service in Germany in 2026, subject to regulatory requirements
π‘ Initial supported assets include BTC, ETH, USDC, EURC and EURAU
β‘οΈ How the service works
π‘ Deutsche Bank would manage wallets and private keys on behalf of eligible corporate and institutional clients
π‘ The roadmap also includes tokenized financial instruments and further digital asset services
β‘οΈ Why the move matters
π‘ Traditional financial institutions are building crypto access within existing banking and compliance systems
π‘ The offering is intended for professional clients, not everyday retail users, and crypto holdings do not carry the same deposit protections as bank accounts
Conclusion: the next stage of crypto adoption may happen inside familiar financial institutions. Banks are not necessarily replacing exchanges β they are building custody and settlement infrastructure for clients who want digital assets without managing every technical risk themselves.

β‘οΈ Solanaβs reliability improves, but Fidelity spots hidden risks
Solana has gone roughly two years without a reported mainnet outage, according to research from Fidelityβs Center for Applied Technology. But network stability does not automatically mean every decentralization problem has been solved.
β‘οΈ What improved
π‘ Fidelity highlighted progress in Solanaβs performance, network resilience and economic security
π‘ Low transaction costs, fast confirmations and strong staking participation continue to support the network
β‘οΈ Where risks remain
π‘ A significant amount of staked SOL remains concentrated among certain validators and operators
π‘ Hosting infrastructure and validator software concentration could create shared points of failure
β‘οΈ Why this matters
π‘ A fast blockchain also needs to remain reliable when parts of its infrastructure face problems
π‘ Validator distribution and software diversity are important measures of network resilience, not just transaction speed
Conclusion: Solana has made meaningful technical progress, but the next challenge is decentralization at scale. Speed attracts users; a resilient and widely distributed network is what helps keep them.

π Tokenized stocks hit an unexpected obstacle: the companies themselves
The push to bring Wall Street equities onchain is facing resistance. Nine US-listed companies have objected to having tokenized versions of their shares traded through OKXICE, the joint venture between OKX and the NYSEβs parent company.
β‘οΈ Who is pushing back
π‘ Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth and CoreWeave are among the companies that filed objections
π‘ Nasdaq has also opted out of tokenized trading for its own shares under the new framework
β‘οΈ Why companies are concerned
π‘ Some issuers worry about price volatility, fragmented liquidity and confusion over whether tokenized shares are officially supported
π‘ The SECβs innovation exemption allows companies to object to their shares being offered through these venues
β‘οΈ What happens next
π‘ OKXICE still plans to offer tokenized shares in dozens of other US-listed companies
π‘ The wider push toward 24/7 stock trading continues, but issuer participation is becoming a key challenge
Conclusion: putting stocks on a blockchain may solve the problem of trading hours, but it creates new questions about market control, shareholder protection and liquidity. The future of tokenized equities will depend on more than technology alone.

πΈ Stablecoin transfers could cost 84% less than traditional remittances
A new Borderless.xyz report puts numbers behind one of cryptoβs biggest real-world use cases: moving money across borders without the usual banking costs and delays.
β‘οΈ What the data shows
π‘ Sending $200 through stablecoin-funded payment rails costs a median of $2, or 1%
π‘ Traditional remittances cost an estimated $12.72, or 6.36%, using World Bank comparison data
β‘οΈ Speed matters too
π‘ Stablecoin-funded payouts through Brazilβs PIX network settled in a median of two minutes
π‘ Traditional SWIFT payments typically arrived the next business day, according to the report
β‘οΈ The important catch
π‘ The 84% saving compares datasets from different periods, so it is not a universal rate
π‘ Payment reliability still varies by country, local banking network and payout provider
Conclusion: stablecoins are increasingly competing on something more practical than price speculation. For businesses and people moving money internationally, lower fees and faster settlement may become the strongest reasons to use crypto infrastructure.

π Strategy faces a new risk β and it is not Bitcoinβs price
Michael Saylorβs Strategy may face pressure from traditional stock-market rules rather than crypto volatility. Index provider MSCI has adopted a new methodology that could remove certain digital asset treasury companies from its global indexes.
β‘οΈ What changed
π‘ MSCIβs new rules can exclude companies classified as βnon-operatingβ businesses
π‘ Strategy, Metaplanet and Upexi are among the companies previously identified as potential deletions
β‘οΈ Why this matters
π‘ Funds tracking MSCI indexes may need to sell affected shares if those companies are removed
π‘ That could create selling pressure on treasury stocks even without a major Bitcoin price decline
β‘οΈ Key dates
π‘ MSCI plans to publish its final deletion list on Nov. 11
π‘ Index changes are scheduled to take effect on Nov. 30
Conclusion: holding large amounts of Bitcoin creates one kind of risk. Depending on passive equity investors creates another. Strategyβs next challenge may come from how traditional finance classifies crypto treasury companies.

π Ledger unveils $849 wallet after tampered devices found in Asia
Ledger has introduced Atom, a new hardware wallet designed to protect against physical tampering. The announcement comes just days after malicious implants were discovered in Ledger devices sold through a reseller in Asia.
β‘οΈ What makes Atom different
π‘ The $849 device combines crypto wallet security with a smartphone-like design and everyday apps
π‘ Android apps are separated from sensitive wallet operations to reduce security risks
π‘ Ledger claims Atom can detect tampering even when powered off
β‘οΈ Additional features
π‘ Support for AI agent approvals, encrypted messaging and post-quantum cryptography
π‘ Shipping is expected to begin in summer 2027
β‘οΈ Why security is in focus
π‘ Malicious implants were found in Ledger wallets sold through authorized reseller CryptoBilis
π‘ Ledger asked distributors in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to suspend sales, while MediaMarkt removed devices from its shelves
π‘ New reseller rules require devices to remain off display, and returned wallets must never be resold
Conclusion: hardware wallet security is moving beyond protecting private keys from software attacks. Ledger is now focusing on the physical supply chain too β because even a secure wallet can become a risk if someone modifies it before delivery.

π Bitcoinβs βUptoberβ thesis is still alive, according to onchain data
Bitcoinβs October rally has been under pressure from bond yields, oil prices and weaker ETF flows, but new onchain signals suggest the market may be forming a local bottom.
β‘οΈ What CryptoQuant sees
π‘ Bitcoin exchange reserves are still 1.7% lower than in mid-September
π‘ Whale holdings remain above 3 million BTC, showing large investors have not rushed to sell
β‘οΈ Why this matters
π‘ Lower exchange reserves often suggest less immediate sell-side pressure
π‘ If whales keep holding through volatility, it can support the idea that the recent drop was more of a reset than a full trend break
β‘οΈ Demand signal
π‘ Bitcoin apparent demand is still negative, but it has recovered close to neutral levels
π‘ A move back into positive territory would strengthen the case for renewed buying pressure
β‘οΈ What needs confirmation
π‘ Sustained ETF inflows, stronger US spot buying and continued demand recovery are still needed
π‘ Analysts warn that βUptoberβ does not need to mean a straight rally β a correction can also build the base for the next move
Conclusion: Bitcoin has not fully confirmed a new leg higher yet, but the onchain setup is improving. If demand turns positive and exchange supply keeps falling, October could still preserve its bullish reputation.

π¦ BIS says digital cash can offer cash-like privacy β but risks remain
The Bank for International Settlements says digital cash could be designed with privacy similar to physical cash, but the technology is not ready for full production yet.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ BIS published a new Project Aurum report focused on privacy-preserving digital cash
π‘ The prototype aims to balance user privacy with the ability to prevent full anonymity in the system
β‘οΈ What BIS found
π‘ Digital cash can offer βcash-like privacyβ under the right technical design
π‘ A validator-level compromise alone would not be enough to expose end users
β‘οΈ Where the risk is
π‘ If one bank is compromised, customer data at that bank could be exposed
π‘ However, identities from other counterparties would not automatically be revealed
β‘οΈ Why it matters
π‘ CBDC critics have long warned that digital money could enable financial surveillance
π‘ BIS is trying to show that privacy tools can reduce that risk, but the current stack still needs more work
Conclusion: digital cash may be able to protect privacy better than many expected, but the weak point is not only the technology itself. Banks, infrastructure providers and data security will matter just as much as the CBDC design.

π Strategy adds more Bitcoin as holdings reach 848,250 BTC
Michael Saylorβs Strategy bought another 250 BTC last week, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 848,250 BTC while keeping a large cash reserve for debt and preferred stock obligations.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ Strategy bought 250 BTC for $21.5 million
π‘ The purchase was funded mostly through common stock sales, with a small part covered by existing cash
β‘οΈ Why the pace matters
π‘ This was the second straight week of smaller Bitcoin purchases
π‘ Strategyβs accumulation has slowed recently, with holdings growing only 0.2% in the third quarter
β‘οΈ Cash and buybacks
π‘ The company maintains a $4.88 billion US Reserve for preferred dividends and debt interest
π‘ Strategy also spent $192.4 million repurchasing STRC preferred stock during the week
β‘οΈ Bigger picture
π‘ Strategy now holds one of the largest corporate Bitcoin positions in the market
π‘ But the company is balancing BTC accumulation with cash management and preferred stock support
Conclusion: Strategy is still buying Bitcoin, but the pace is clearly more measured. The next signal to watch is whether the company returns to larger BTC purchases or keeps prioritizing reserve strength and STRC buybacks.

π Asiaβs crypto market is moving fast despite restrictions
New data shows how quickly crypto adoption is changing across Asia: Chinaβs peer-to-peer stablecoin activity is surging, South Korea now leads East Asia by crypto economy size, and major hubs are preparing new rules for tokenized assets.
β‘οΈ China and stablecoins
π‘ P2P stablecoin wallets in China grew 43x between Q1 2024 and Q2 2026
π‘ Chainalysis recorded $104.1 billion across 18.1 million transfers involving Chinaβs self-custodied stablecoin holdings
β‘οΈ South Korea leads East Asia
π‘ South Koreaβs crypto economy was estimated at $449.1 billion, the largest in East Asia
π‘ But local exchanges saw operating profits fall 78% as trading volumes, deposits and market values declined
β‘οΈ Tokenization push
π‘ Securitize partnered with LG CNS as South Korea prepares rules for tokenized stocks, bonds and funds
π‘ Hong Kong also plans to submit a broader crypto licensing bill before the end of 2026
β‘οΈ Regional signals
π‘ Singapore is expanding institutional crypto custody, payments and settlement infrastructure
π‘ Japanβs DEX activity has risen more than 200% since 2022, while Thailand reported a physical robbery involving $820,000 in crypto
Conclusion: Asiaβs crypto market is not moving in one direction. Some countries are tightening control, others are building regulated infrastructure, but user demand for stablecoins, tokenized assets and onchain trading keeps growing across the region.

πΊπΈ US government moves another $1B in seized Bitcoin
A wallet linked to US government-seized crypto moved more than 12,267 BTC, worth over $1 billion, just hours after another major transfer to Coinbase Prime.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ Blockchain data shows more than 12,267 BTC moved from a wallet tied to seized US government funds
π‘ The transfer followed earlier government-linked moves totaling about $770 million in BTC to Coinbase Prime
β‘οΈ Where the Bitcoin came from
π‘ Arkham Research linked the wallet to funds recovered from the 2016 Bitfinex hack
π‘ That hack originally involved 119,756 BTC stolen from the exchange
β‘οΈ What is still unclear
π‘ The owner of the latest recipient address was not identified at publication
π‘ US authorities have not yet publicly explained the reason for the transfers
β‘οΈ Bigger picture
π‘ The US government is estimated to hold more than 328,000 BTC from seized assets
π‘ Trump signed an order in 2025 creating a strategic Bitcoin and crypto reserve, but lawmakers are still working to turn it into law
Conclusion: large government Bitcoin movements always attract market attention. This does not automatically mean selling, but transfers of this size can quickly become a volatility trigger while traders wait for official confirmation.

π° Capital may be rotating back from AI into crypto
Real Vision founder Raoul Pal says crypto could get a stronger push if the US dollar weakens and the AI stock rally pauses, allowing capital to rotate back into digital assets.
β‘οΈ What Pal is watching
π‘ A weaker dollar could become a βgreen lightβ for more upside in crypto
π‘ High bond yields and a strong dollar are still limiting how freely liquidity can move
β‘οΈ AI and crypto flows
π‘ Pal says AI stocks have been competing with crypto for investor capital
π‘ If AI trades sideways instead of crashing, crypto could benefit from rotation without broader liquidity stress
β‘οΈ Why Ethereum and Solana matter
π‘ Pal expects AI agents to drive more activity toward smart contract platforms
π‘ Ethereum and Solana could benefit as software agents use stablecoins and smart contracts to transact
β‘οΈ Bitcoinβs role
π‘ Pal says Bitcoin may miss part of the AI-agent economy because most activity needs programmable platforms
π‘ Still, he sees Bitcoin adoption, ETF interest and collateral use as long-term support factors
Conclusion: the next crypto rally may depend less on hype and more on liquidity. If the dollar weakens, AI cools without breaking and capital starts rotating, Ethereum, Solana and the broader crypto market could get a new wave of attention.

π¨π³ ZachXBT says Chinese crime network laundered over $1B for Lazarus
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT says he infiltrated a Chinese laundering network that allegedly helped North Koreaβs Lazarus Group move more than $1 billion in stolen crypto.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ ZachXBT said he posed as a paying customer after the $1.5 billion Bybit hack
π‘ He claims the network operated across Hong Kong and mainland China, helping process funds from multiple crypto exploits
β‘οΈ How he traced it
π‘ ZachXBT said he used stablecoin test orders to build trust with one operator
π‘ Information from the network helped identify more than $12 million in Bybit-linked funds
β‘οΈ What was frozen
π‘ Tether later froze $442,000 in associated USDT
π‘ The case shows how stolen crypto can move through intermediaries before reaching cash-out routes
β‘οΈ Bigger picture
π‘ Lazarus-linked hackers have been tied to billions in crypto thefts
π‘ ZachXBT also linked Chinese actors to laundering funds from the Bitget and Kelp DAO exploits
Conclusion: crypto hacks are no longer just about the attackers. The real infrastructure is often the laundering network behind them β and this case shows how much of the battle now happens after the funds are stolen.

π OKX and NYSE parent move toward tokenized US stocks
A joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has filed with the SEC to launch a tokenized US stock trading platform.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ OKXICE LLC plans to launch a tokenized securities venue under the SECβs new innovation exemption
π‘ The platform would offer tokenized shares in more than 60 US-listed companies
β‘οΈ What assets are included
π‘ The proposed list includes Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Tesla
π‘ It also includes crypto-linked companies such as Strategy, Coinbase, Circle and Bitgo
β‘οΈ How it would work
π‘ The platform plans to operate 24/7 using permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on XLayer
π‘ Tokenized stocks would be paired with USDC, USDG or USDT
β‘οΈ Why it matters
π‘ The SECβs innovation exemption gives tokenized stock venues a limited path to test onchain trading
π‘ If approved, this could bring traditional equities closer to crypto-style settlement, liquidity and round-the-clock access
Conclusion: tokenized stocks are becoming one of the biggest bridges between crypto and traditional finance. With OKX and the NYSEβs parent company involved, this is no longer just an experiment from crypto startups β it is moving into institutional infrastructure.

β‘οΈ Stablecoins can move money faster than banks can react
Stablecoins are becoming one of the fastest ways to move dollars across borders. They settle 24/7, avoid many legacy banking delays and can shift capital between banks, countries and markets at software speed.
β‘οΈ Why this matters
π‘ Traditional bank transfers still depend on working hours, settlement windows and correspondent banks
π‘ Stablecoins can move instantly across borders, giving users digital-dollar access without a traditional bank account
β‘οΈ Two risks for banks
π‘ The slow risk is deposit erosion, currency substitution and weaker monetary control over months or years
π‘ The fast risk is a depeg, issuer shock or banking event that moves capital within hours
β‘οΈ Where pressure can build
π‘ In countries with inflation or currency stress, users may shift into stablecoins to access dollars faster
π‘ That can weaken local currencies, reduce bank deposits and make capital controls harder to enforce
β‘οΈ What stablecoins replace
π‘ They may not remove banks completely, because reserves still sit in bank deposits and Treasuries
π‘ But they can reduce the need for slow intermediary steps in cross-border payments
Conclusion: stablecoins are not just a crypto product anymore. They are becoming financial infrastructure that can move money faster than banks, regulators and even countries are used to. The opportunity is faster payments β the risk is faster capital flight.

π¨ MetaMask exits Ethereum validators after security incident
MetaMask is responding to an undisclosed security incident affecting part of its infrastructure and is exiting affected Ethereum staking validators as a precaution.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ MetaMask said it is investigating the threat internally with external partners and security advisors
π‘ The company says it has not found any immediate threat to MetaMask wallets
β‘οΈ What is affected
π‘ The precautionary steps involve validators inside MetaMaskβs non-custodial staking operations
π‘ MetaMask manages over $3 billion in staked ETH through its infrastructure
β‘οΈ Lido update
π‘ Lido said MetaMask Staking has begun exiting Ethereum validators connected to the Lido protocol
π‘ The last affected validators are expected to exit by the end of Oct. 7
β‘οΈ What users should know
π‘ ETH from exited validators is expected to return gradually as the exit, withdrawal and re-entry cycle completes
π‘ That process could take up to 45 days because of the extended validator entry queue
Conclusion: MetaMask says wallets are not under immediate threat, but the validator exits show the incident is serious enough to trigger defensive action. For staking users, the main thing to watch now is how quickly MetaMask explains the issue and completes the validator transition.

π€ Big Tech signs voluntary AI safety accord at the White House
The White House has brought major AI and tech executives together for a voluntary agreement on frontier AI risks, putting much of the responsibility on companies to monitor their own systems.
β‘οΈ What happened
π‘ Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, Nvidia and xAI executives signed the accord
π‘ The agreement focuses on making sure advanced AI models behave as intended
β‘οΈ What companies commit to
π‘ Internal controls, board-level oversight and independent external reviews
π‘ Systems designed to prevent models from hacking or accessing technical infrastructure in unintended ways
β‘οΈ Why it matters
π‘ The accord keeps AI safety largely in the hands of developers rather than slowing deployment through strict regulation
π‘ It also leaves open the possibility that some commitments could later become law or formal rules
β‘οΈ Bigger picture
π‘ Trump has framed AI development as a strategic race, especially against China
π‘ The same day, he signed an order directing the government to use βSuper Intelligenceβ instead of βArtificial Intelligenceβ
Conclusion: the US is choosing a light-touch AI safety path for now. The bet is that major AI firms can police their own frontier systems β but the real test will be whether voluntary controls can keep up with models that are becoming more powerful every month.
