The phrase ‘Scared money don’t make money’ is used in many ways by diverse people from the Hip Hop community to the trading and investing world but what does it really mean?
People that are too afraid to take on risks in business, life, and financial markets are unlikely to make money because rewards only come from taking risks. If you take no risk on your capital there will be no returns on your capital.
Even if a person wants to invest or trade their money they can be very afraid of losing it. A person has to be able to put their money on the line for their beliefs in a company or a trading position to even have a chance to make any money.
Ten reasons why ‘Scared money don’t make money’:
1 The fear of taking action can cause you to do nothing, you can’t make money through inaction.
2 Being afraid to buy a dip during an uptrend will cause you to miss the opportunity to enter at a good risk/reward ratio and catch a swing trade back up.
3 Being too scared to buy a breakout in price at the beginning of a new trend will cause you to miss a trend.
4 The fear of having an open winning trade turn into a losing trade will make you lock in a small profit instead of letting your winner run for a big profit. Most winning systems need big wins to be profitable.
5 Too much fear of losing money will lead you to not put any money at risk for the opportunity to make money.
6 Ironically, FOMO or the fear of missing out can cause you to enter a trade too late near the end of a trend and lose money because of your timing. This is one of the only fears that cause action that makes you lose money.
7 The fear of being wrong about a trade or investment can paralyze you into not doing anything. This is an ego problem focusing on yourself and not on a process of system.
8 A fear of a large drawdown in your capital can leave you staying too conservative to make much money.
9 Most fears arise from a lack of faith in your method or a lack of faith in yourself to execute your process with discipline.
10 Too much fear of failure can lead to never starting any profitable venture to make money. You have to risk what you have for a chance to get something you want more.
The top 10 causes of big losses in trading:
1 Too stubborn to exit when proven wrong: You just refuse to take a loss, you think a loss is not real as long as you do not exit a trade.
2 Too much ego to take a loss: You are on the wrong side of the market trend but think if you hold a losing position you can be proven right on a reversal. While you are waiting to be proven right your loss gets bigger and bigger.
3 Too much hope for a reversal: You think the market just can’t keep moving against you and must reverse at current price levels.
4 Trading too big a position size: The bigger you trade the bigger your potential loss and the more likely that your emotions will override your trading plan.
5 Buying in a downtrend: Bulls in bear markets lose money as markets make lower highs and lower lows.
6 Selling short in an uptrend: Bears in bull markets lose money as the market makes higher highs and higher lows.
7 No trading plan: When you don’t have a plan for your trades you plan to fail.
8 No trading system: If you do not have a quantified and proven price action trading system then your trades are just random in nature. Big losses will happen due to the random nature of entries and exits.
9 Bad position sizing parameters: Big losses will occur when position sizing is not based on historical volatility and worst case scenarios.
10 No discipline: No self control to create a systematic trading process and even if there is one, then no discipline to follow a predetermined method.
Enter at the close of the hour, on the 15min timeframe or after price closes below or above ketchup(Red EMA)
Type of entries could be inline with your signature trades. E.g entries on ID-50, 50/50 H1, H4 bounces, hold the Mayo, Brinks trades, H4 close above/below ketchup at S &R ,nameable pattern, reversal candles etc.
Exits could be at all S &R mentioned, exits after gaining a minimum of 50pips - (be aware of a pairs ADR), at the end of the current trading session, at the high or low of the day and prize has once again closed above or below ketchup, after ADR have been met/exceeded or if you are swing trading it has reached level 3 in the MAAW & WVVW steps.
For US brinks trade exits are take profit 1 the 50 EMA-water, while Take profit 2 is the 200EMA Mayo
Entry and Exits:
These depend on your signature trade, lotsize, trading style and timeframe.
Ideal entries are at the high or low of the day because they give a tight stoploss hence allowing you to use big lotsizes. These HOD/LOD could coincide with mid week reversal making it both a day and swing trade giving many pips.
Enter after stop hunts above or below the asian box. Look for price action patterns and reversal candles that are inline with TDI, S&R levels such as iHOD/ iLOD(asian box high/low), EMAs and Yesterdays High(YH) etc.
Technique for always cashing in from the market
1) Do your analysis in higher timeframe and trade with the trend. (W1/D1/H4)
2) Enter your first trade on lower timeframe (1h, 15min). Use strict risk management.
3) If you are in profit hold your first position(s) and scalp the retracements. (There will always be retracements)
4) Exit each of your trades at support or resistance levels.
If a pair doesnt obey your rules dont trade it, look for another pair. Otherwise close your laptop. Ignore the "noise" you hear from other forex traders and "signals" , "profits screenshots" you see in the many Telegram groups you are in. Trust your own analysis
Try to stick with the same lotsize even if you are having a very good week and your account increases in size. If you always trade with 0.05 stick with it. (risk 3 - 5%...max 10% of your account.)
Newyork traders look for New york reversals signs: ADR almost reached or exceeded/Outside structure formed suggesting HOD or LOD/Reversal Pattern, Reversal candles at Brinks Box.
London traders: Look for stop hunt high drop or stop hunt low rise after <50 pips asian session.
Do Aim to take your trades as close to the high or low of the day as possible after seeing M W reversal patterns and reversal candlesticks. 50pips should be enough to take your profit or move SL to break even.
