▫️Sells man pleads guilty to child sex abuse
Mario JB Juan, 39, has admitted to sexually abusing a young child more than a decade ago, according to federal prosecutors. The Sells man's sentencing is set for Oct. 8.
According to court documents, Juan admitted to engaging in sexual contact with a victim younger than 12 years old in 2015. At the time of the abuse, he was employed at the Head Start Program in Sells.
Federal authorities are asking anyone with information about Juan or who may have been a victim to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or online at tips.fbi.gov.

▫️District Attorney files formal charges against Topeka man for alleged child sex crimes
TOPEKA, Kan. - A 25-year-old Topeka man has been arrested for alleged child sex crimes, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) announced Monday.
KBI officials said on Thursday, July 2, agents with the child victims unit arrested Koby Allen Hoar, 25, of Topeka. Hoar was arrested for two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. KBI stated that formal charges are pending.
The KBI says it began investigating after a cyber-tip was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On April 7, 2026, the KBI executed a search warrant at Hoar’s residence and seized evidence. Officials said that following his arrest Hoar was booked into the Shawnee Co. Department of Corrections. KBI says that additional charges against Hoar are expected.
Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at www.kbi.ks.gov/sar.

GARDEN CITY, Kan. - A man in western Kansas is behind bars after being charged with child sex crimes.
38-year-old Anthony Abraham Gonzales from Garden City faces charges related to child sex crimes, including multiple counts of rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated kidnapping.
The crimes are believed to have happened between 2014 and 2022 against a child under the age of 14. Gonzales’ bond is set at $150,000. He is due back in court on July 27.

▫️Illinois man sentenced for online exploitation of York County child
YORKTOWN, Va — A 31-year-old Illinois man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to exploiting a York County child online.
According to the York County and Poquoson Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Andres Arreola pleaded guilty on July 9 to enticing a minor to perform child sexual abuse acts and using a communication system to facilitate certain offenses involving a child.
The case began in April 2025 after the parent of a 9-year-old child called the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office about inappropriate messages they found from Arreola to the child on an online chat platform.
Investigators determined Arreola sent sexually explicit messages and images to the child and persuaded the child to send explicit images in return, knowing the victim was a 9-year-old.
