I rarely post on international affairs, but I can’t stay silent about Iran. I believe that many places on the earth hold great power, and the Middle East is one of them. There is so much agitation and disruption there because peace in places like Palestine and Iran will create huge shifts in the collective energy field. What is happening in Palestine is horrific, but it’s also complex. Israel has committed atrocities but so have Hamas. The Jews are a persecuted people and they believe it’s their homeland. I personally don’t have any Palestinian friends, but I do have Jewish and Israeli friends. I pray for peace in the region. Iran on the other hand, does not seem complex to me at all. The Iranian people are attempting to throw off an oppressive and tyrannical regime, that has been destroying lives for 47 years. They are being killed by their own government for demanding basic human rights. I do have Persian friends, and my experience of the Persian people is that they are an incredibly beautiful, kind, strong, and proud people. I cannot imagine the horror of having family members there and not being able to easily make contact with them. I don’t understand the silence from people who are quick to have an opinion of world affairs, or from media, or from governments. To my mind, there are parallels with 2020, where so many people shocked and surprised me with their ignorance and by their complicity with evil. This could turn into a Substack, so I will just say: I say my prayers every day, and right now, the first prayer I say each morning is for Iran.
