It's almost 700 years old and has spent every one of those years balancing on a narrow shelf wall. L'Eschif in Périgueux, France, was an observation point for a toll bridge.
It is an oak frame building with half-timbered and plaster infill, built in 1347. The building is balanced on the narrow walls of Puy-Saint-Front (the medieval center of Périgueux) supported by oak uprights all along its length.
