25 One of the major hurdles for us to overcome is our warped view of the past and our Lore. What most of us understand is a picture painted in modernity by atheists or abrahamists that believe this whole religion was barbaric and simple superstition with no great meanings.
Take Odin, He is depicted as a God of death, wickedness, trickery, and upset and yet, magically, our Forebears worshipped Him and asked Him for boons not with a sense of staying His "wickedness," but being honored with His blessings and goodness. Time and again names of His are warped to fit the scholarly opinions of Him rather than bear forth the truth. Scholars will screech when you cite names with meanings such as "beloved, favor bestower, heart," and others of a pleasant character and DEMAND that we listen to their warped translations based simply on their ideas of Odin rather than reality.
With views like this, it is no surprise how, ironically, the religion is often a haven for low vibrating individuals with a message of "drink heavily, hit women, and scream Odin at passersby." Yes, I'm sure the God of wisdom and eloquence wants us to uproot any decency left in society and trade it for megalomania and abuse to be inflicted upon ourselves and others...
OR maybe we are supposed to TRANSCEND our misguided views, uproot the errors given to us and within us, and strive to be worthy of our Forebears and Gods. Rather than putting the Gods where WE WANT THEM, perhaps we should FIT OURSELVES WHERE WE BELONG.
