Late last month, NUS Computing Assoc Prof Martin Henz launched a book called the Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs Java Script (SICP JS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology! Prof Henz's book is an adaptation of the computer science textbook Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (SICP), which represented a landmark in computer science education & was written by Hal Abelson & Gerald Jay Sussman. Our heartiest congrats to NUS Computing alumnus Joel Yap (Business Analytics, Class of 2022), winner of the Future Leaders in Tech Award at the Singapore Computer Society's Tech Leader Awards ceremony last week! 🎉✨ During his time at NUS, Joel participated in more than 20 hackathons & competitions locally and overseas. But how do these AI systems arrive at a conclusion that you're sad? 🤔 Enter explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), an area of study that seeks to explain the results produced by machine learning algorithms.
