When a person is afflicted with something that causes his chest to become constricted #Shaykh_Abdus_Salam_As_Shuwayir حفظه الله

​"We always hear about respecting a woman’s decision. When a woman chooses not to wear hijab (or display her beauty), it becomes 'personal freedom,' and no one has the right to object. But when a woman chooses modesty and full covering, she is called strict and oppressed, and she is compared to a trash bag."

مهما ازدحم قلبُك بالهموم، فثَمَّة بابٌ لا يُغلَق: سجدةٌ في جوف الليل. هناك يخفُّ الحملُ، ويطمئن القلبُ، ويُبدِّل الله وحشةَ النفس سكينة. ​ولا تحرم نفسك الوتر؛ فأقلُّه ركعة. ​ ​No matter how overcrowded your heart is with worries, there is a door that never closes: A prostration in the depth of the night. There, the burden lightens, the heart finds peace, and Allah replaces the soul’s loneliness with tranquility. ​And do not deprive yourself of the Witr prayer; for its minimum is just one Rak'ah.

{وَأَنفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تُلْقُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ وَأَحْسِنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ}

And spend in the Cause of Allah and do not throw yourselves into destruction (by not spending your wealth in the Cause of Allah), and do good. Truly, Allah loves al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). [Surah al-Baqarah, 2:195]

When The Heart Is Agitated Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim A-Jawzeeyah [رحمه الله] said: «إذا اضطرب القلب وقلق فليس له ما يطمئن به سوى ذكر الله.»

When the heart is agitated and has anxiety then there is nothing that will make it tranquil other than the Dhikr [remembrance] of Allaah.

• ‏قال ابن القيم رحمه الله: ‏القلب لا يطمئِنُّ إلاَّ بالإيمان واليقين، ولا سبيل إلى حصول الإيمان واليقـين إلاَّ من القرآن.

The heart finds peace only through faith and certainty and these come only from the Qur’an.

مدارج السالكين  جـ٣/صـ٣٤٨

رَحِمَ الله امرأةً أدركت خُبث بعض مجالس النساء فأعتزلتها واهتمت بإصلاح نفسها .. "May Allah have mercy on a woman who realized the evil of some women's gatherings, stayed away from them, and focused on self rectification..."

•• ثم إن القرآن أعظمُ ما رُمِّمت به بَثرة الأرواح وأجلُ ما هُذّب به شَعث السـرائر وأنقى ما جُمع به شتات القُلوب، فالزميه في الشدة والرخاء. القرآن أنيس لك في الشدة والرخاء إن كنت في همّ فسيزيح همّك، كل آية لك بها متنفس، وكل آية تخفف حزنك وتشرح صدرك، وإن كنت في سعادة فوالله أنه سيضاعف تلك السعادة لسعادات! ​"Indeed, the Quran is the greatest thing to mend the stumbles of souls, the most noble way to refine inner thoughts, and the purest way to gather scattered hearts; so adhere to it in hardship and ease. ​The Quran is a companion to you in hardship and ease. ​If you are in distress, it will relieve your worries; every verse is an outlet for you, every verse lightens your sorrow and eases your heart. And if you are in happiness, by Allah, it will multiply that happiness into manifold joys!"

•• Do not think that a prostration to Allah in the depth of the night, or a verse you recited, or a remembrance you uttered, or a charity you gave, or any good deed you performed was purely by your own willpower. ​Rather, it is Allah Almighty who chose you from among the heedless, planted His love within you, guided you to what pleases Him, and rewarded you. ​And whenever you find within yourself an inclination toward acts of obedience, know that Allah has called you to honor you—so hasten toward Him. ❤️❤️

ولكني اتبعتكَ على أن أُرمى بسهمٍ ههنا- وأشار إلى رقبته- فأموت فأدخل الجنة! فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: إِنْ تَصْدُقِ اللهَ يصدُقُك! فلما كانت جولة أُخرى من القتال، أُتِيَ به إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم محمولاً، والسهم مغروز في رقبته حيث أشار سابقاً، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: أهو هو؟ فقالوا: نعم يا رسول الله فقال: صدقَ اللهَ فصدقه الله! ربح البيع .. ​" '...But I followed you on the condition that I be shot with an arrow right here—and he pointed to his throat—so that I die and enter Paradise!' ​The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: 'If you are truthful with Allah, Allah will fulfill your wish.' ​When another round of battle took place, the man was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried back, with an arrow lodged in his neck at the exact spot he had pointed to before. ​The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: 'Is it really him?' ​They replied: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' ​He said: 'He was truthful with Allah, so Allah fulfilled his wish!' ​Successful indeed was the bargain..." # Battle_of_Khaybar

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen mentioned the following in his explanation of Riyadh al-Saliheen:

[مهما عملت من الأعمال الصالحة لا تعجب بعملك فعملك قليل بالنسبة لحق الله عليك  ]

Whatever kind of good deeds you do, do not become amazed with your own actions, for your deeds are quite small in comparison to Allah's right over you.

Allah says in surah al-Nisa': [وَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِن فَضْلِهِ] And ask Allah out of His bounty. (32)

In part of his commentary, al-Baghawi (rahimahullah) wrote: [قال سفيان بن عيينة : لم يأمر بالمسألة إلا ليعطي] Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah (rahimahullah) said, “Allah only orders you to ask so that He may give.” [Tafsir al-Baghawi 2/206] Umar ibn al-Khattab (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) said:  I am not concerned about my Du’a’ being answered, but the concern is the Du’a’ itself (ability to make it/say it), because if I am inspired to make Dua, then the response will (certainly) come with it.

"Allah gave you the hard pathways because He created in you the strength to overcome it."

​الأماني المستحيلة Impossible Wishes / Unattainable Desires ​ ​ياليتني كنت ترابا "I wish I were dust." ​ياليتني قدمت لحياتي "I wish I had sent forth [good deeds] for my life." ​ياليتني لم أوت كتابيه "I wish I had not been given my record." ​ياليتني لم اتخذ فلانا خليلا "I wish I had not taken so-and-so as a friend." ​ياليتنا أطعنا الله وأطعنا الرسولا "I wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger." ​ياليتني اتخذت مع الرسول سبيلا "I wish I had taken a path with the Messenger." ​ياليتني كنت معهم فأفوز فوزا عظيما "I wish I had been with them so I could achieve a great triumph." ​نتواصى بتداركها.. ما دمنا أحياء "Let us advise one another to fulfill them... while we are still alive." 💔💔

•• نصيحة وغنيمة: ​إذا دخلتم مطعماً أو أي مكان تُشغَّل فيه الموسيقى، فاطلبوا منهم إيقافها حتى لو كان الصوت خفيفاً جداً، وذلك اتباعاً لحديث النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم): ​"صوتان ملعونان: صوت مزمار عند نعمة، وصوت رنة عند مصيبة." ​وإذا لم يتم تقفيلها، فالخروج من المحل أولى لحفظ دينك وقلبك، ثم إنك لن تدع شيئاً لله إلا عوضك الله وأبدلك خيراً منه. ​وفقنا الله وإياكم لكل خير. ​Advice and a Valuable Gain: ​If you enter a restaurant or any place where music is playing, ask them to turn it off, even if the volume is very low. This is in accordance with the Hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):

​"Two sounds are cursed: the sound of a musical instrument during a blessing, and a sound of wailing during a calamity."

​If they do not turn it off, leaving the place is better and more fitting to preserve your faith and your heart. Moreover, you will never leave something for the sake of Allah except that Allah will compensate you with something better than it. ​May Allah grant us and you success in all that is good.

جاءت السُّنَّة بأن الغلظة والقسوة في رعاة الإبل، والسكينة والوقار في رعاة الغنم. يتأثر الإنسان بمجرد مصاحبة غيره، ولو كان حيوانا! لعلها رسالة لكل من يتابع غيره، ويدَّعي أنه لا يتأثر به! ​The Sunnah mentions that harshness and sternness are found among camel herders, while tranquility and dignity are found among sheep herders. A person is influenced simply by keeping company with others, even if it is an animal! Perhaps this is a message to anyone who follows others and claims they aren't influenced by them!
