"Trials and tribulations (fitnah) occur through good as well as through evil, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says: 'And We test you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will be returned.' [Quran 21:35] And as the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid: 'By Allah, it is not poverty that I fear for you, but I fear that the world will be opened up for you as it was opened up for those before you, and you will compete for it as they competed for it, and it will destroy you as it destroyed them.' So trial occurs through good—in what Allah bestows upon the servant of physical health, mental soundness, growth in wealth, abundance of riches, and other such blessings. This trial may even be more severe than the trial of poverty, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'It is not poverty that I fear for you, but I fear that the world will be opened up for you.' And indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) spoke the truth."

Gems with Shaykh Musa I was sitting with Shaykh Musa حفظه الله تعالى, and I asked him: “Once we’ve found the true path — Insha’Allah — what can we do to stay firm on this path?” He (حفظه الله تعالى) said with a kind smile, that Allah Says: وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ “And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed: If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]… [14:7] You thank Allah for His Guidance, and He سبحانه وتعالى will increase you in His Guidance, Insha’Allah. Then he mentioned the Ayah: وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ ‏But few of My servants are truly grateful. [34:13] He then said: “Shall we not strive to be amongst them?” He continued and mentioned the Hadith: وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي بِشَيْءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا افْتَرَضْتُهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَمَا يَزَالُ عَبْدِي يَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيَّ بِالنَّوَافِلِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهُ، فَإِذَا أَحْبَبْتُهُ كُنْتُ سَمْعَهُ الَّذِي يَسْمَعُ بِهِ، وَبَصَرَهُ الَّذِي يُبْصِرُ بِهِ، وَيَدَهُ الَّتِي يَبْطِشُ بِهَا، وَرِجْلَهُ الَّتِي يَمْشِي بِهَا، وَلَئِنْ سَأَلَنِي لَأُعْطِيَنَّهُ، وَلَئِنِ اسْتَعَاذَنِي لَأُعِيذَنَّهُ “My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the duties I have imposed upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory deeds (nawāfil) until I love him. And when I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks Me, I will surely grant it to him; and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him.” [Bukhari, 6502] He said to be persistent and striving, in completing as many Nawafil (voluntary acts) as we can, for what is absolute guidance, except when Allah Loves you? Does Allah not guide whom He Loves? A deep question, which many spend their lifetimes searching the answer for, the Shaykh answered with two Ayāt, a Hadith, and a smile. May Allah preserve our beloved Shaykhayn and their family, and give them both a long life full of deeds, and an absolute protection from the evil of this life and the next, and grant them a lofty status and company in the hereafter, with the Siddiqeen, Shuhada’, and Righteous.

يُقال قديماً: كان الفرق بين الجارية والحرة في الأماكن العامة أن الحرة تتحجب والجاريّة تتزين لأنها تُباع وتُشترى. "ما أكثر الجواري اليوم"! والله المُستعان... It used to be said in the past: The difference in public places between a slave woman and a free woman was that the free woman would veil herself, while the slave woman would adorn herself because she was bought and sold. "How numerous are the slave women today!" And Allah is the One whose help is sought...

After you recover from your social media obsession: You will discover that many of those around you have covered thousands of miles in real life. Many have memorized the Quran, Many have drawn deeply from knowledge and advanced in it, Many have mended their relationship with Allah, And became among those drawn close to Him, And many have truly become righteous... While you are still tossing and turning side to side in front of the screen!

#Shaykh_ul_Islām_Ibn_Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "A person may recognize that the truth lies with someone else, yet deny it out of envy toward him, or a desire for superiority over him, or personal whim. This desire drives him to transgress against the other person and refute whatever he says by any means possible—even while knowing deep in his heart that the truth is with him." (Al-Fatawa 7/191)

"Allah treats you as you treat people" "It is mentioned in the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ):" Whoever covers [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will cover his faults. Whoever eases the hardship of a person in debt, Allah will ease his hardship in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever pardons a Muslim's misstep, Allah will pardon his misstep on the Day of Resurrection. Allah only shows mercy to those of His servants who are merciful. Allah will continue to help a servant as long as that servant helps his brother. Whoever seeks out the faults of his brother, Allah will seek out his faults. The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Spend [in charity], O son of Adam, and I [Allah] shall spend on you. Whoever causes hardship to others, Allah will cause hardship to him. Whoever causes harm to others, Allah will cause harm to him.

Instead, pray to Allah for their poster's guidance, and denounce the wrongdoing at least within your heart, for that is the weakest of faith. The matter is not as simple as we think; there are those whose breaths have departed this life, yet their sins continue to flow due to the misfortune of what they posted or shared!"

O Allah, forgive them, grant them endless reward, and bestow upon them your everlasting forgiveness. O Allah, we have entrusted them to Your mercy, and we know that Your mercy toward them is far wider than anything that comes to our minds. O Allah, have mercy on them, and unite us with them in Your Paradise.

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“I will tell you a hadith that no one after me will tell you. We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he smiled and laughed. Then he said, ‘Do you know what made me laugh?’ They replied, ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He ﷺ said, ‘I am amazed at the believer. Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, does not decree anything for him except that it is good for him.’”
Meaning: Whatever Allah decrees for a believer contains goodness for him—even when the believer may not immediately understand or see that goodness.

Hasan Al-Basrī رحمه الله said: “Patience is a treasure from the treasures of good. Allāh doesn’t grant it (to anyone), except one who is precious to Him.”
