One of the etiquettes and means of having your duʿā’ answered is to precede it by mentioning a sincere deed done solely for the sake of Allah. This is known as tawassul through righteous actions. Tawassul should never be construed as boasting about one’s deeds, but rather as a form of sincere submission and acknowledgment of one’s full reliance on Allah.

| 2 |  By your life, there is none in creation like Muḥammad ﷺ.
Increase in sending ṣalawāt upon the best of creation ﷺ, especially on the day and night of Jumuʿah. Through it, ranks are elevated, sins are forgiven, blessings descend, and it is a means of attaining his intercession on the Day of Judgement, along with countless other benefits.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ. اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ. | 504 |

| 6 |  Ibn Rajab (raḥimahullāh) said, “The above ḥadīth makes it clear that the most virtuous optional fasts after Ramaḍān are the fasts of Muḥarram. And given that Allah attributed fasting, amongst all acts of worship, to Himself [saying, “It is Mine, and I Myself will give reward for it.”] it was suitable that this month, which is also ascribed to Allah, be selected for this particular form of worship. | 705 |
| 7 |  The specific mention of these four months does not mean that other months are not sacred, because the month of Ramaḍān is unanimously the most sacred month in the year. But these four months were specifically termed as sacred months because even the Pagans of Makkah observed their sacredness, following in the footsteps of their forefather Ibrāhīm (ʿalayhis-salām). Despite their frequent tribal battles and regular wrangling, they deemed it unlawful to fight in these months. The sacredness of these four months was established right from the day Allah created the universe. | 885 |
| 8 |  We recently witnessed the blessed month of Dhul Ḥijjah and are yet again fortunate to witness another blessed month; a chance for us to begin the New Islamic Year with good deeds, righteous intentions and praiseworthy resolutions.

| 9 |  The virtue and honour of this month can be attested to by the fact that it is the only month attributed to the name of Allah. A virtue which is exclusive to it.
Ibn Rajab (raḥimahullāh) said, “Such an attribution is only made by Allah to the elite of His creation, such as the attribution of the Prophets to Himself as His slaves, and the attribution of the House (Kaʿbah) and the Camel to Himself.” | 873 |
| 10 |  ʿAbdullah b. Hishām (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) said: “The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to learn this supplication when the month or the year began, just as they would learn the Qur’ān.” - Muʿjam al-Ṣaḥābah by al-Baghawī | 946 |
| 11 |  May Allah make this year our best year and the days of this year our best days; both individually and collectively as an Ummah.
May He relieve the suffering of the oppressed, grant victory and honour to the Ummah, especially our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

| 13 |  Whether it is the beginning and end of the day or the beginning and end of the year, these beginnings and ends constantly remind us of our own beginning and end. They give us an opportunity to reflect on our inevitable death, make amends and renew our resolve.
As one Islamic year comes to an end and we prepare to welcome another, let us seek forgiveness for our shortcomings, express gratitude for Allah's countless blessings and resolve to draw closer to Him. May Allah accept our deeds and allow us to end this year and begin the next in worship and obedience to Him. | 1 060 |
| 14 |  Every blessing calls for gratitude.
Every hardship calls for patience.
And in every circumstance, all praise belongs to Allah.

| 15 |  Mount Uḥud witnessed courage, sacrifice and unwavering love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
The Ṣaḥābah sacrificed everything so that the religion of Islam could reach you.
They sacrificed so that you could taste the sweetness of īmān and stand at Uḥud today.
Now, you must ask yourself: What will you sacrifice for the sake of Allah? How will you carry their legacy forward?

| 16 |  One of the most beautiful and effective etiquettes is to call upon Allah using the Names that correspond most to the need or request. Each of His Names carries specific meanings, and invoking the one most relevant to your situation demonstrates both understanding and sincerity.
A person seeking forgiveness can say Yā Ghaffār (O Oft-Forgiving) and Yā Tawwāb (O Accepter of Repentance).
One who feels lost or is in need of guidance may say Yā Hādī (O Guide) and Yā Raḥmān (O Most Merciful).
Someone going through financial hardship can turn to Yā Razzāq (O Provider), Yā Karīm (O Generous), or Yā Ghaniyy (O Self-Sufficient), asking for sustenance and ease.
Likewise, if someone is facing injustice or oppression, they might invoke Yā Qawiyy (O All-Strong), Yā Jabbār (O Compeller), or Yā Nāṣir (O Helper), seeking strength and support.

| 17 | Don’t Forget Saʿat al-Istijabah: A Time When Duʿa Is Answered
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Jumuʿah is comprised of twelve portions of time. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last period after ʿAṣr.” (Abū Dāwūd)
Turn to Allah as a humble beggar. Raise your hands and ask Allah for forgiveness. Ask Him for all your needs, big and small.
Do not forget the Muslim Ummah in your duʿās, especially Gaza, Sudan, those unjustly imprisoned, and al-Masjid al-Aqṣā. | 1 048 |
| 18 |  Masjid Qubā’ was not built upon grandeur or display. It was founded upon righteousness, sincerity and sacrifice.
Try to visit Masjid Qubā’ on a Saturday, as he ﷺ did, and seek the reward of an ʿumrah.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever purifies himself in his house, then comes to Masjid Qubā’ and prays in it, he will have the reward of an ʿumrah.” (Ibn Mājah)

| 19 | Surah Al-Kahf: A School of Life
Sūrah Al-Kahf is not merely a chapter to be recited — it is a complete school of īmān, trust, wisdom, and perspective.
From the People of the Cave, we learn that our faith is our true homeland — the very flesh and blood of who we are. When belief is protected, everything else can be sacrificed.
From the story of the owner of the two gardens, we learn that a person’s true worth lies in the heart, not in wealth or possessions. Richness without gratitude and humility is emptiness.
With Mūsā and Al-Khiḍr, we are reminded to quiet our impatience and open our hearts. Not everything we fail to understand is evil, and not every hardship is without wisdom.
From the damaged ship, we learn that Allah may test us with a small loss to save us from a far greater one.
From the killing of the boy, we learn that what Allah takes away may itself be a hidden mercy and a greater gift in disguise.
And from the wall rebuilt without reward, we learn that no one is more faithful, more protective, and more loyal to His servants than Allah.
Sūrah Al-Kahf teaches us to see beyond appearances, trust beyond circumstances, and believe beyond what the eyes can see. | 1 046 |
| 20 |  As we enter the night of Jumuʿah, increase in sending ṣalawāt upon the one whom Allah sent as a mercy to the worlds, guiding humanity from darkness into light.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ | 1 167 |
