Last year, I asked myself a simple question "If I could go back ten years, what would I tell my younger self?" The answer wasn't... "Work harder." It wasn't... "Start a business earlier." It wasn't even... "Invest in the stock market." It was *Read Books* And that is because every costly financial mistake I have made in life came from something I didn't know And almost every good financial decision I made later came from something I learned from a book That's why I'm passionate about the ML Book Review It's not just about discussing another bestselling book It's about discovering ideas that help us make better decisions with our money, our careers, our businesses, and our lives Every other Sunday, we come together to learn, question, and challenge our thinking Sometimes one sentence from a book sparks an idea worth millions. Sometimes one discussion helps someone avoid a mistake that could have cost them years You don't have to be an avid reader. You don't even have to finish the book Just show up Because the quality of your life is heavily influenced by the quality of your thinking And one good book has the power to upgrade both. I'll love to see you this Sunday at ML Book Review Time is 7PM Register here; www.moneylessons247.com/br

Last month was bloody in the Nigerian stock market By "bloody," I mean the experience of many investors—especially those who only discovered the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) within the last 18 months. For them, June was probably the first time they experienced a significant market correction The NGX began an impressive bull run towards the end of 2024 and maintained that momentum throughout much of 2025. Many companies delivered returns that few people expected As prices continued to rise, conversations about Nigerian stocks exploded across social media Suddenly, everyone wanted to talk about the NGX People who had never invested before opened brokerage accounts Friends started recommending stocks to friends Some people even invested simply because they didn't want to miss out That's what usually happens during a bull market Then Came June... June didn't just slow the market down It reminded investors that markets don't move in one direction forever Prices began to fall Portfolios turned red The excitement faded Almost overnight, the conversations about Nigerian stocks reduced drastically Some investors even deleted their investment apps because they couldn't bear looking at the *unrealized* losses in their portfolios That reaction isn't unique to Nigeria It happens in every market around the world One thing I've observed over the years is this: When prices are rising, people become overconfident - they invest aggressively Some even borrow money or invest funds they'll need in the short term because they believe prices will continue to go higher Then, when prices begin to fall... Fear replaces excitement The same people who couldn't stop buying suddenly stop investing completely Some even sell quality investments at a loss out of panic What they tend to forget is that volatility is the beauty of the stock market Question for you; did you panic sell or you bought more stocks in June? Some people want financial freedom But the truth is, most people are not building the habits that create wealth They are working hard every month, earning salary, hustling daily, but all the money is spent And this is why many people remain stuck financially for years Because income alone rarely changes your life Ownership does This is one thing the wealthy understand very well They own businesses They also own assets that keep growing even while they sleep When you buy shares in good companies, you are no longer just a consumer. You become an owner and over time, as those companies grow bigger, your money grows with them. This is how many people globally have built wealth quietly for decades. Not through betting Not through Ponzi schemes Not through waiting for one miracle breakthrough but through consistent investing Sadly, many Nigerians avoid investing because nobody taught them properly Some people think the stock market is gambling. Others are scared because they have heard stories of scams But buying shares is completely different from gambling Investing in the stock market is simply putting your money into businesses with long-term growth potential This is exactly why I created Stock Market Money A beginner-friendly class designed to help everyday people understand investing the simple way You will learn: - How the stock market works - How to avoid common mistakes - How to identify good companies - How to start building long-term wealth gradually even with small capital. No complicated grammar or unrealistic promises Just practical financial education that can change your mindset and your future Because years from now, the people who started investing early will most likely be in a completely different financial position. The best time to start learning was 5 years ago. The next best time is now Register now for Stock Market Money. šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ moneylessons247.com/smm

5 Mins to Finance O'Clock w/ Makua Eyisi Stream Here

Many salary earners want to venture into entrepreneurship But are stuck in the decision loop; ā€œShould I quit?ā€ ā€œWhat if it fails?ā€ ā€œWhat if it affects my job?ā€ And for many who have tried before and failed, entrepreneurship now feels like a road they never want to revisit Sometimes, the difference between staying stuck and making the leap is learning from someone who has done it successfully Makua Eyisi is one of those people I remember in 2019, sitting in the living room of his apartment, listening to him share his vision and plans. At the time, it was just an idea In 2020, he made the bold move He left his comfortable role as a Strategy Analyst at Fidelity Bank Plc and founded Mevesi . Today, Mevesi has become one of Nigeria’s go-to fashion brands, with its beautiful 2 floor studio situated right in the heart of Lekki, Lagos. In 2023, he also founded Monibac — a fintech company helping Nigerians build a stronger savings culture while earning attractive returns. Monibac now has over 100,000 users. This Thursday on Finance O’Clock, I’ll be hosting Makua Eyisi as he shares the real story behind the transition: — The fears — The mistakes — The sacrifices — The lessons from moving from 9–5 to full-time entrepreneurship If you have ever thought about starting a business Or if you’re wondering when to make the leap… This is a conversation you should not miss Come with your questions. Time: 8PM Live on MoneyLessons YouTube Channel Share with your friends and frenemies Subscribe to ML Youtube channel and turn on notifications so you dont miss out šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ youtube.com/@moneylesson247

Your ability to save money is more in your control than you may think. Savings can be created if you spend less than you earn
Your ability to save money is more in your control than you may think. Savings can be created if you spend less than you earn. You can spend less than you earn if you desire less things You will desire less if you care less about what others think And guess what, their thoughts about you are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Also, you don't need any specific reason to save. Save as though famine is coming Pay Yourself First!!! #moneylessons247

I will be going live on Facebook by 8PM today This is your opportunity to ask me any question on Investing and "Stocks Made Simple" Join here

The other day, I said instead of buying land with 500k, buy shares of established companies. And some people frowned at it. But here’s the truth many people won't tell you; Land banking is not for "person wey never chop belleful" Let me explain If you’re still trying to: - Escape low income - Build financial discipline - Avoid ā€œ being broke before month endā€ You shouldn't lock your money in an asset that you can’t sell quickly, doesn't pay you regularly and will take many years to appreciate As a young person, your priority should be Flexibility + Fast Growth You need investments that: - Can grow your money faster - Can be converted to cash when needed - Allow you to move quickly as your life evolves And that's where stocks come in. When you buy stocks of solid companies: - Your money is working actively - You can earn from growth and dividends - You can sell off the stocks without hassles This is not to say buying land is bad or investing in Real waste is unprofitable But that's not a smart investment strategy for young people still on a low income To your financial sense, #moneylessons247
