I have more thoughts on this post from back in May. To a large extent, 1984-style history rewriting is easier today than it was in the book. AIs can be given the task of memory hole-ing or modifying newspaper articles, social media posts, digital photographs, etc., and the amount of physical evidence which would contradict the revision is much smaller than in 1984, making it even easier. The system is fully capable of this style of history rewriting, but by and large it isn’t carried out. This further supports the theory that they have to tell you the truth (or at least make evidence of the lie available), and you have to consciously consent to believing the lie, be it through ignorance or laziness or brainwashing. I believe this is because of some sort of divine law that governs the rules of engagement between the forces of good and evil, but it could also just be an extra indictment of those who follow the beast system’s commands, leveled by the beast against the unfaithful as an additional cause for damnation. This theory always leads me to the same place when I consider the goings on of the world. I know Bill Gates is a meme, but he and his ilk seem very concerned with the “useless eater” class. By having the volume turned up slightly higher for the lie than for the truth, he is gaining the consent of the unfaithful/ignorant to carry out their destruction. I see no benevolence in this, but rather consider it to be an elimination of the potential draft pool for Christ’s army, cutting off reinforcements for the faithful, and taking souls before we can save them.
