Tried Claude Code (canāt remember the model) for the first time today. Mixed feelings, mostly negative. Too chaotic and unreliable for me, at least without additional prompts.
Development doesnāt feel like traditional trial and error, it feels more like lottery. With trial and error, every time you fail you learn something and apply it the next time you face a similar problem. With Claude, you just put your resources and effort, and hope it gets the job done. Thereās no reward for failure, you (or the model) doesnāt learn anyting from it. At least, for now.
Or itās just a skill issue, I donāt know.

Been scrolling through my old notes/drafts and found my Advent of Code 2025 Overview post that I've never finished. The challange was to solve daily problems using a different language every day for 12 days and briefly review each language and explain how it "feels" to a newcomer. I didn't complete the challange, nor finished the post. But these are the languages I've used during AoC 2025, if anyone is interested:
Python, C++, Rust, Lua, Haskell, OCaml, Gleam, Kast, Janet, Factor, Futhark.

I genuinely hope Claude source code leak is an isolated incident and Anthropic doesn't become another AI slop company like Microsoft.

Worked on a legacy project today for the first time in a while, probably since my Kennekt days. I don't know, there's a certain charm to working on a codebase that hasn't been touched in years.

Turns out accidentally using
docker-compose instead of docker compose is enough to feel nostalgia.2 569
Iāll be honest, I donāt like working with vibe coders at all. From my experience (both at work and online communities), theyāre annoying to work with, to teach, and to learn from. They almost never do their job properly, often screw up your part, know nothing about debugging, and more often than not, argue over stuff that they donāt understand (at least from my experience).
Iām not saying vibecoding shouldnāt be a thing. Itās great to be able to vibecode a personal website or a simple telegram bot without actually learning programming. However, if youāre getting paid to do software engineering professionally, for godās sake, please understand what youāre doing, or at least, donāt be pain in the hole for someone else in your team.

I donāt like Anthropic as a company, especially because theyāre now starting to ruin FLOSS as well. But you know what, mad respect to them for consistently showing a middle finger to the US DoW.

Google chat is cooking a lot of useful features recently. If youāre a small org/team and use Teams or Slack, Iād recommend giving Google Chat a try.
