🐸 "Look I know its not nice to be rude and the zeitgeist is to stand up straight, make your bed and don’t stoop to their level. But in honour of Sun Tzu and the Art of War - sometimes you gotta “stoop to conquer”. Yes I know he didn’t mean be a potty-mouth, wise-arse but here we are and it’s getting all 5th generation and messy out there on their inter-webs (yes the internet was created by the US military and Google’s plucky little start-up out of Harvard was as well (Kissenger/Klaus turf). We are in their play pen and I’m not surprised they are getting pissy at dissidents - belligerently mentioning truth and facts and poking tiny holes in their story line. Mass murder is a common dissident purge technique so time is of the essence. Anyhoo - the gist of the track is that the era of privacy and hiding is done... “If you are not on a government watch list you should be ashamed of yourself”, meaning that you either self-censor or are just basic bitches. Neither of which applies to me. Lack of censorship (speaking freely) applied to one-self, inevitably leads to saying or thinking things at odds with others points of view. This is where my irritation with the spooks begins. They work a normal job in I.T. but it’s a job of spying and subversion. Let’s call it what it is - they are paid to be arseholes. They troll forums and block the flow. They are pro gag yourself. So like any stand-up member of society - I see my job with this song is to poke some fun, let fear take a back seat and just acknowledge where we are at. Besides you have to stand up to the bullies. The pervasive nature of the phone in our lives means we have to reconcile some of these issues. Spying and selling your data (tracking eye moves) are just 2 of the myriad problems. All of this we know. I am not a cutting-edge journalist or researcher telling you anything new - I’m just a musician, Doomsday Prepped, not having to sing for my supper and able to ride out the fourth turning with time on my hands.
