This was revealed by Nick Percoco, the Chief Security Officer of the trading platform. The exploit was carried out due to a bug that allowed fraudsters to artificially inflate balances on the platform, effectively stealing other users’ coins. However, the Kraken team quickly fixed this issue. Notably, the popular blockchain security platform CertiK had previously identified several critical vulnerabilities in the exchange. Analysts had warned that these breaches could potentially lead to losses amounting to millions of dollars.
