Bahir Dar Institute of Technology - Career Development Center (BiT-CDC), in partnership with Dereja, has launched Round Two for four consecutive days a comprehensive training program aimed at enhancing the employability skills and job readiness of graduate students. This program represents a significant effort to bridge the gap between academic achievement and professional success, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to enter the workforce. The second round of this Training Program has enrolled approximately 47 trainees. The program covers job readiness, universal and transferable skills, work values, personal strengths, and SWOT analyses. Participants also learn about essential employability skills, market demands, industry-specific skills, job search strategies, and social media utilization for job hunting. Practical aspects include creating LinkedIn accounts, writing cover letters and resumes, distinguishing between CVs and resumes, preparing for tests and interviews, professional attire, and addressing common interview questions. Following the initial session, two more rounds of training will be offered. Participants who complete the full-day training will receive a certification. Graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend the upcoming sessions to prepare for the Career Expo.
