Reuters report: Russia has presented the United States with the basic conditions for entering peace talks with Ukraine - abandoning Ukraine's ambition to join NATO, not stationing foreign troops in Ukraine after the war, and international recognition of Russia's sovereignty over the Crimean peninsula and the four regions of Ukraine occupied in the war. The conditions were conveyed in meetings between Russia and the United States in the past three weeks, even before the announcement this week of the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. It is unclear whether Russia will agree to move forward in the peace process without ensuring these three conditions are met.
