All of the ambulances hairing around this week in Lincolnshire reminded me of an awful episode with a customer when I was tour guiding a trip back from Italy aged 21 year old. A man felt unwell, complaining of stomach upset, for about 24 hours and was becoming a peculiar shade of yellow. As we arrived at the dockside at Calais to embark for the return to the UK, he started to go in to cardiac arrest. We raced back on the coach to the Calais terminal and the ambulance was there almost the moment we arrived. I remember chairs being brought to sit on on the kerb outside the terminal. One her and one for me. I tried, probably very poorly, to reassure her, as we watched the ambulance heave from side to side from the many attempts at resuscitating him. In that moment I think we both realised the futility of it, and suddenly became aware of how exposed we were, sat there on chairs outside the terminal. There was no privacy for her to cry. Her husband didn't make it. And in that long, but deceptively short space of time we watched a soul leave, and along with it a little bit of heart space.

Doesn’t really matter who the girl is… just whether it was planned or not. Looking at Tice’s face I would say yes!
