Friday is when I post all the good news that has accumulated for the week (usually later in the day). What an astonishing day it’s been! Time for me to cuddle with my Kindle, say my prayers and settle my mind. Hang in there, Patriots. If God is for us, who can be against us?

👆🏻 Because someone asked, that’s Matt Mitchell from “It’s a Southern Thing.” Please don’t be mad at me if you decide to watch their hilarious videos into the wee hours. Save ‘em for when you need a laugh or two. https://www.youtube.com/c/ItsaSouthernThing/videos

👆🏻 For the Men Folk 😊❤️ (Men before a tornado)

Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that one of the most ultimate ways you can be a Rebel Patriot, is to homeschool. Our Founding Fathers did.

For the record, you dads are very important to homeschooling! God bless the man who supports his homeschooling wife. We need y’all!

Nature study is a part of our family life. From books, to taking sketch pads outdoors, to having chats about God’s creation –we just marvel at all the beauty that surrounds us! Every school year our local homeschool organization puts on an art contest, and every year my kids submit photographs. As you no doubt figured out, the kids chose God’s nature as their subject. This evening the kids took home 2nd, 3rd and 3rd places for their photographs. God lavishes us with His creativity. We’re just happy when it cooperates for a photo!

I feel like someone needs this…. When You’re Scared to Start Homeschooling I was a first time mom of twins, and after they were born I had oh so many moments of disquiet; hours feeling alone, unsure, and quite frankly, terrified. I sought my mom’s advice often during that first year as her easy, matter-of-fact tone would help bring me back down from the ledge. She told me things like, “Don’t worry! They won’t be using a baby bottle on their first date!” Having the perspective of someone who had been in the trenches and not only survived, but thrived, provided me hope. Hearing the kind words of encouragement from strangers also helped carry me over those rough patches. It never ceases to amaze me how being a first time mom and being a first time home schooling mom are so similar. There are tears, anxiety, and exhaustion; there are moments that stretch your patience and sanity; there are days you can barely function; and there are instances when you pensively measure this season of your life. Even so, you learn tricks and tips along the way; you feel giddy over something your child accomplished; and you often collapse into bed at the end of the day feeling very blessed. As the weeks turn to months, and the months into years, you come to realize that there is a certain kind of comfort in familiarity. These accumulative momming experiences give you a confidence and perspicacity you otherwise wouldn’t have. So it is with homeschooling. Novice steps may start out wobbly, however, in hardly any time at all you will have a routine. Adapting, creating, exploring, and growing accumulate, bestowing you with precious moments. Throughout this home schooling journey you may encounter unsolicited advice, naysayers and stumbling blocks. That’s okay. Have you ever read a book to your child? Colored with them? Taught them how to use a fork? Hold a pencil? Ride a bike? Taught them how to say, “please,” and “thank you”? Have you kissed a boo-boo, comforted them, advised them, trained them, laughed with them, traveled with them? You are their mom: their biggest fan, their loyal advocate, their guiding light. You definitely got this, Mom! God has gifted instincts upon you to know what is best for your child. No person and no words can take that endowment away from you! It’s no mistake that you’ve reached this threshold. A seed has been planted in your very soul. To bloom, this seed doesn’t require the perfect curriculum or the perfect mom-teacher. All this seed really requires is patience, fidelity, courage, and a sense of humor. And it will grow into something breathtaking.

👆🏻 Here is a brief PDF that covers the various styles of homeschooling. Before purchasing curriculum or signing up for classes, understand your homeschooling style/preference.

Go the Home School Legal Defense Association website then select your state to learn more the laws where you live: https://hslda.org/legal/

Reading over the comments throughout the day* I noted quite a few questions regarding homeschooling. If you’re contemplating homeschooling I can assure you that you will never regret the time you had with your children. Most importantly, you will quickly discover that God put you on this homeschooling journey as much for your sake as He did for your children’s sake, because God will use this season of your life to refine you. The first thing you need to do is check your state’s laws concerning homeschooling. You cannot move forward until you understand what is required. The second thing I recommend you do is understand the various styles of homeschooling. The typical styles are traditional, classical, Charlotte Mason, unit studies and unschooling. *thank you again for such kind words. Y’all have brought warmth to my heart!

Tuesday’s Cyber Symposium was the introduction, Wednesday was the core, and today is for solutions. Here’s one 👇🏻

Thank you Mr Wood for your generous attention. I am humbled, grateful and will do my best to make you proud to call me a sister in Christ and a fellow patriot. To those who have joined, thank you for the kind words and willingness to humor me. I ask God to guide my steps, so just like my Mom Thug Life™ I have no idea what my Telegram Life will look like each day. If you’re wondering, it’s exactly what the channel info states: A little bit of this and that, with a heavy sprinkling of humor along with gentle reminders of the good in life. Blessings to you!

Crazy that this whole world could be saved by a bunch of amazing nerds and their computers! I love it!
