In the light of the debate going on regarding the video of a PhD Scholar who was teaching in higher education department from last 12 years and is now selling dry fruits on a cart, please find below my suggestion to the students:- As someone involved in imparting education to masses, I want to share a thought with my students from J&K about the importance of learning new skills in this rapidly evolving era of science and technology. I currently work in a central PSU—a job often regarded as one of the most secure in the country. However, I've never allowed myself to fall into the comfort zone. My goal is to add at least one new qualification to my resume each year, alongside taking short-term skill-enhancing courses on platforms like YouTube, Udemy, or Coursera. Recently, while preparing for the DipIFR exam, even my family questioned why I was pushing myself so hard after already tiring days at the office. But I firmly believe we have ample time to pursue any course if we are willing to get a little tough on ourselves, especially during exam days. Once you set a clear goal, the journey becomes much more manageable. It’s possible that I may never switch jobs, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop learning new skills. I encourage everyone in my circle to keep learning and never let themselves get too comfortable.
